I ended up in the ER both times, needing surgery one time and needing a specialized procedure done the second time. He said he felt bad that he didn't take me seriously but he never changed afterward. I finally left him for many other reasons but it all came down to a complete lack of respect for me. I live in the UK, and I have a legal 0.303 rifle and ammo for target shooting, but it's really not practical for home defence, since the rifle is locked in a gun safe, and the ammo is locked in another safe. However, the chance of a housebreaker in the UK having a firearm is vanishingly small. If they have anything at all, it's likely to be a knife. So, my defence of choice is the lead-loaded butt of one of my American pool cues. I have the longer reach over someone with a knife, and if they lunge at me, I just break the knife-wielding wrist with the extra speed that motion arm gives me. If they're not armed, they will leave rapidly.

They got lucky this time with their stupidity, but if you find yourself in a similar situation and you act like they did, don't be surprised if the payment for your "stupid tax" is your life, if you hear or suspect anything strange, especially door slamming every night for weeks ( I'm honestly amazed they don't get mugged daily ), lock yourself in a room, take a weapon and call the cops, install surveillance and for the love of god buy any kind of weapon to defend yourself instead of adventuring alone in the middle of the night towards spooky sounds, you're not in a movie, you are gonna get mugged or killed or both

Lol. My boyfriend too. I think some men automatically assume women are all overly paranoid. Once we had a skunk trapped in our crawlspace and he "couldn't smell anything" for the longest time then suddenly he jumps up and says "call 911, there's a gas leak". I insisted that he go look in the crawl space so he found the skunk as I was on the phone with 911 😭. Luckily, whenever there's knocking on the door/window or anything he takes that seriously but usually dismisses me UNTIL it's something super serious

The Bible says that no one is a good person. We have all broken God's law the 10 commandments, we have all committed, lies, adultery, idolatry, and blasphemy. We deserve hell, but because of what Jesus did on the cross we can be forgiven. So if you Repent of your sins, change your wicked ways, and put your faith in Christ you will be written in the book of life. 👌 🙏Repentance is reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better. .

Worked in a warehouse of a really famous rich family, and they had inbred to keep the money in the family. When a child was born with mental issues, or physical issues they would keep them in the basement of this warehouse. Idk the whole story, but I worked in the basement with one other woman, and we only used a small area in the front of the basement by the elevator and obviously, we only used the elevator to come and go, for breaks, etc.. I went on my lunch break and came back and she asked how the hell did I get past her and used the elevator without her knowing, because usually you worked right by the elevator. I was confused and said I told you that I was leaving for my lunch break? She said,no, you were just sitting on the pallets over there talking to me for the last 10mins. I was like, no, I just came back from break,I was sitting in my car and never came back until right now. After something grabbed her hair later that night, and she couldn't see anything, she never came back to work after our shift. Something followed me home, because my mom said the same thing a few days later. I was working the overnight shift and came back in the morning. My mom asked where the hell did I go? I said I just got back from work? This was before cell phones,so I had to call my job, and get the shift manager to tell my mom that I had been at work all night and punched out at 7am. She said that I had came home, used her bathroom in her room and then sat down on her hope chest and was talking to her around 2-3am.. I never used her bathroom in her room because her husband was sleeping with her, and there was another bathroom close to the front door..the last time something imitated me, my mom said that my youngest son who was only 1 at the time was walking around with his arms raised saying, mama for about 10mins. Idk wtf it was and it still freaks me out over 20yrs later. I've had so many paranormal experiences that's it's not even jarring anymore to me anymore.. I've never interacted or acknowledged them because I feel like they would amp up their activities and harass me even more. I've lived in two houses that demons, whether or not you believe me. Those things I don't fuck with because they KNOW that I can see them somehow and after the first time, I immediately move out because they're strong AF. First one shook a damn 4 story house so hard every door was slamming open and closed because of it. We left the next morning.. F that shit..

Later on we end up finding out we lost the code to our lock and someone end up finding it and finding out it belonged to our locker too. We changed the lock and ripped up the code. It never happened again we learned our lesson. Some time this year my mom called me and told me she had lost her keys outside her house and a man returned them to her. I Instantly insisted we go to the store and I changed all her locks same day. Something like this can easily happen to anyone. Keys can be made so easy and fast. A few minutes before, the wife came to his apartment to warn him once again and he was just as dismissive and disrespectful to her as he had been all along. I saw she commented and said people dismissed them because they weren’t actually killed and that just makes my skin crawl. The violation knowing someone was living in your home UNINVITED and actively planning to mutilate your family, creating confusion and chaos, making you feel unsafe and just ruining a life you were enjoying up to that point. To anyone saying to them it wasn’t that bad because their alive, they are only alive because they encountered him! This isn’t a get over it situation, this is a life altering event that can cause all sorts of long term mental health issues. Luckily it seems they are healing well and their family is happy and healthy the fact they are even comfortable enough to speak freely about such a awful thing is a testament to their ability to take back control and move on. ❤❤

I work as a guard at the prison he was incarcerated in last year before he was moved to the State Mental Hospital, he was very erratic and at times aggressive. I definitely feel for the family in this for what they had to experience and go through hope they can heal and recover from this and move on, maybe give Hawaii another chance down the line. After hearing this story, I find it extremely hard to understand how a husband could be so completely dismissive of his wife and her fears. Not only that, after all that she told him, it should have been clear that something was going on. The only way not to think that is to believe that your wife is completely hysterical over absolutely nothing. And while I'm glad to read the comment by Brittany Campbell, which indicates they are doing well enough, I admit I would have problems with my partner after being treated like a nutcase, while a crazy murderer lived in our house.

@inthelandofmorethansmall75822 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Whether you believe your spouse or not, when you see that pure terror, absolute seriousness on their face, it doesn't matter... If you cared about them, youd want to reassure them, right? I mean, we all know Elmo isn't going into Toddlers bedrooms at night and kidnapping little boys, but if our kids wake up and that's what they're afraid of? We go check to make them feel better, right? All that being said, if my husband or kids ever turned to me in fear and said they thought something happened, I would believe them no matter what.... But even if you DIDNT... a normal person would want to reassure them...
@inthelandofmorethansmall75822 жыл бұрын

The way this former navy seal tells the story emphasizing James being so dismissive of his wife's concerns isn't necessarily the way it actually was and those incidents were spread out over months and months and so it'd feel and actually be quite different than hearing it all in the space of a twenty minute video.

It really sounds like an encounter with a schizophrenic person. I have a friend that suffers from that with seven different personalities, and the way the few bits of text is written and how it explains things then goes on tangents about things... That is exactly how my friend have written to me, not that creepy but the same manners, patterns, and detail. He's extremely rational and quite clever, but this one time he started talking about how the flames were talking to him and that we were connected some how.... I tried to figure out exactly "who" (what version) I was talking to (3), and trying to explain that obviously there's connections between our personalities, but that's it, random ass connections, me, my friend (1) and you (3), just happen to be quite similar. A couple days later I get this random message that I'm not who I say I am.... Months later without hearing anything from him, he comes back telling me that he got arrested by cops, was sent off to a hospital, after having a major episode he was found shirtless with a knife, trying to fend off people from approaching him yelling at them that he doesn't want to be "taken"... worst part was that my friend (1) blacked out during all this, all he know of the past month was what people have told him. Two month later I stumbled on an article that talked about this building that caught fire, they had suspected faulty wiring, but found evidence of arson. two blocks off where my friend lives, the same weekend that he started talking about the flames speaking to him.

I've never known any military man, actually I've never known any person, who would've behaved the way James did. In addition, I'm curious why they stayed there, didn't call police, check the whole house, and do surveillance. They and their children were terrified, doors continued to open and shut, the dog kept barking, and they felt they were being watched. That's a lot of clues.

You have to be a special kind of ignorant to dismiss all the red flags of someone in your house, especially when your significant other is legit telling you. Having a child of my own, if there was even a 1% chance that someone or something was opening and closing the doors in my home where my child sleeps, there would have been a camera, a call to the police, and/or a detailed search of what’s going on.
