My Virgin Kitchen Definition of peduncle. 1 : a stalk bearing a flower or flower cluster or a fructification. 2 : a narrow part by which some larger part or the whole body of an organism is attached : stalk, pedicel. 3 : a narrow stalk by which a tumor or polyp is attached.

Hey, Barry. A 20 minutes infusion is way too long. It's usually 5 minutes for black tea (most of the english teas are black) and 3 minutes for green tea. It gets bitter if you infuse it for too long.
@CatFurOnMyPyjamas6 жыл бұрын
I've once numbed my tongue by drinking tea that I left infusing too long. Didn't want to waste the drink and I was curious how bitter it would taste.
@Happy_Boner6 жыл бұрын
There is a drink in Russian prisons called chifir. Basically, you pour huge amount of loose tea (5-8 tablespoons per person) in a metal mug or pan, add water and brew it without boiling for 15 minutes or more, up to several hours. Long brewing makes it toxic, narcotic-like and addictive.

I just can't believe an Englishman knows so little about tea! 20 minutes.....!! I'd try maybe 2 minutes at first for someone who likes the aroma but not harsher notes. It gets crazy tannic and bitter after 10-15 mins.
@ovaltineforlife47786 жыл бұрын
It's 2-4 minutes with black tea, 2 minutes if no milk or cold water added, 4 minutes if adding milk or cold water, although some teas don't bitter as much as others (i once left T2 Scots Breakfast tea brewing for 2 and a half hours and it tasted fine).

First of all, the second tea you opened was in a pouch. You then open that pouch to get the tea bag, which probably had a string on it. Secondly, you're only supposed to steep tea for 3-4 minutes usually. It almost always says the recommended amount of time on the packaging, sometimes on the paper tag on the end of the string.

That’s why I watch his, too. Aqono Luna I find many of these so called gadgets for disabilities actually make things more difficult. They get used about 10-50 times every day and I've yet to see any of them break in two years - the one Barry's got must be incredibly low quality if it's falling apart in a domestic kitchen chopping a few carrots and peppers rather than prepping the ingredients for 1000s of litres worth of c.l.o.c as well as other things.

I usually leave my teabag in for around 10 minutes as I love a strong peppermint tea. Also if you make your own fresh tea in a bag or ball that takes longer for the flavour to infuse so that probably why it goes up to 20 minutes.

Perhaps for the tea videos, buy individual serve coffee-bags? Sure, they're instant coffee and vile, but considering your reaction to tea, it would be difficult for them to be less vile than tea for you. And for loose-tea, coarse ground coffee (the stuff you'd use in a french press) should also be quite effective. I don't know any tea that wants a 20 minute steep time. (I of course, leave my teabags in all day, but that's because I like bitter tea.) The longer a tea steeps, the more tannins (the bitter stuff) are released. It would be rather depressing and hilarious for you to refer to the ISO standard for tea brewing in your next tea video (ISO 3103) -- since it's designed as a standard for comparing different teas.

Hey Barry, love the videos and your work! As for your tea question, I've always seen instructions to steep tea about ten to fifteen minutes but also cover it. I usually use a damp paper towel for this since it traps the steam inside nicely and keeps the tea nice and hot, even after fifteen minutes of steeping. I tend to add honey to sweeten mine as well, which may help you enjoy it more if you haven't already experimented with it. Mint tea with honey and lemon is lovely on a cold day, or whenever you have a cold. Hope you have a good day and thank you for the video!

For the tea penguin, since you don't like tea see if you can get coffee bags. I know in the states the company Folgers had them and they worked just like tea bags. Great for when you only want a cup of coffee and don't want instant. Not sure how or if you could get them in the UK but maybe Amazon would have them. Also a tip for getting more juice from squeezing citrus, put the fruit in the microwave for a few seconds. Make sure to poke it with a tooth pick so it doesn't blow up. LOL You really will get more juice and have the effort. With the zester, hold the fruit still and scrape it with the zester. We love your new kitchen. Keep up the great work.

I took universal design at university so some of these devices are really cool assistive design. Like there's a spoon that stabilizes itself so that if you have Parkinson's and your spoon shakes so much you can't eat the spoon head is separate from the grip so nothing falls out. So cool!

YES, Pretty Please ! I Definitely would be interested in a new & improved safe chopper. Maybe a larger & small version that nests inside each other ( or separate versions) with silicone feet & clear measurements.

YES!!! Do the chopper thing!! I loved mine, up until the point where the lid broke. Yeah. That didn't thrill me. But, up until that point, I loved my chopper!
