that smore gaget is kind of a waste, I've gone them in a microwave with the same result just stacking them on a plate
@jeremycrocker25248 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you just flatten them while they're still hot, they're not that hard to make. I suppose the water could help keep the marshmallow from getting hard, but 30 seconds isn't going to make that much steam with that much water.
@RFC35148 жыл бұрын
It's not there for the steam; the water absorbs part of the microwave energy and lets the smore heat more slowly and evenly, so it melts without burning. You can do the same simply by putting a couple of glasses of water in the microwave oven, though.
@Redhotsmasher8 жыл бұрын
Mike Jeavons tested a similar thing and also got pretty much exactly the same result by just sticking the smore in the microwave by itself, and I see no logical reason why this thing wouldn't be equivalent to putting two smores and a small glass of water (if the steam actually makes any kind of noticable difference, that is) in the microwave.

I think the water is to keep the microwave...humid? I know microwaves work by agitating water molecules and if you put something dry in a microwave it can catch fire. So maybe that's why you do the water?

For juicing lemon, my mom bought an electric citrus juicer that works even better than the juicester you reviewed (I think ours is from Bosch): you just firmly press a cut lemon against the cone of the juicer (kinda like with the juicester), and while the cone is pressed, the machine automatically turns, so you don't have to turn the lemon, just hold it in place. It also comes with a cup that catches the juice and makes it easy to pour into other containers, as well as a plastic mesh that catches the seeds. It's really handy, especially in the summer, when a batch of fresh lemonade really hits the spot! :D (especially now with the heatweave in Europe lol) Sidenote: I'm now hungry for smores :P gonna try to make some with some left-over Snickers :D wish me luck
@xRainbowFroggy8 жыл бұрын
That sounds absolutely amazing 😱 How'd the snicker smores turn out?
@petrescuework-difficultcas65818 жыл бұрын

@KPater-mf4je8 жыл бұрын
Really good! :D I had bought a large package of white-chocolate Snickers on sale recently, and cut up some to decorate a coffee-caramel sponge cake (a kind of a present to myself -- I got enrolled in a cool college in a subject I really like, so yay!), but I had a lot left over, and it's too sweet for me to "bare", as it were, so I just made some smores in the microwave along with some leftover marshmallows (cut them in half, since the Snickers already had a bit of a toffee-marshmallowy goo in them), only without the smores holder thingy :P I just used the "water in the glass" method, and used some leftover cinnamon cookies I had made a while ago -- a lot of leftovers, I know XD The cinnamon cookies became a little soggy, I'll admit (should've used proper graham crackers I guess) but the snickers and marshmallow filling turned out lovely! In addition to white chocolate there was caramel oozing out of it, yum.
@bcaye8 жыл бұрын
+Simon Peggle, so candy alone was too sweet but adding cookies and marshmallows toned it down?
@KPater-mf4je8 жыл бұрын
Yes, because a whole bar of Snickers is like Diabetes. I cut up the candy into less than quarter-sized, and then added only the halves of the marshmallows. The cinnamon cookies were barely sweet, which is why so many were left over :P I toned down the sweetness of a whole bar of Snickers by chopping it down, basically, and then drowning out the white chocolate taste with cinnamon and marshmallow. I think it would have been better with the plain Snickers, though, or even with just a bar of chocolate with peanuts in it.

With the rebranded rollie, it helps if you whisk your egg mixture before putting it in. Note I say "helps". Some things insist on floating to the top, but at least the yolk is evenly distributed (try adding a pinch of shredded cheese). Stuff that disolves like salt etc. tends to work best in the mix. Also note if you whisk it, it tends to expand more so you usually have to used less egg.

My granny owns one. She has some disabilities and has maaaany gadgets of the sort. It helps her a lot. This one specifically was quite trashy but within time she got the drill of it- you just need softened butter, and you're good to go. Gadgets can also help people with disabilities.
@AbbeyB778 жыл бұрын
I think the butter slicer would be great to have around my house if we actually ate dairy butter. I have celiac disease and my dad is the worst about getting crumbs in the margarine, so this would make it less likely they would contaminate the butter and make me sick. But my mom and sister are allergic to dairy, so we don't use butter.
@punky197618 жыл бұрын
I could totally see a person in a wheelchair (who I happen to be, so I feel I can speak on this) just being able to set the butter cutter on the counter and then just grabbing it for some toast (or whatever), without having to manuvour or reach into the refrigerator, which depending on their wheelchair and abilities, could be quite dangerous for them. Just because a person might need to do something in a different way, does not make them (or anyone) a waste of life.
