My Review of 2024: Look back at the bands and events from the past year.

I come back from my self imposed exile from KZbin and find this work of art to get my addiction going again🤭 What a treat! A wonderful selection from top videographer MrB! Some of my favourite marches are featured, one of which is the March Grandioso which I was first made aware of by MrB! Can’t say the rendition here is my favourite but hey! Other marches and pieces from a variety of occasions, bands and places present us with an eclectic selection. There’s such a variety here, something to suit everyone. Like a box of chocolates not everything is going to be your favourite but some of your favourites are to be found here. For me the massed bands of the Household Division have the edge, maybe I’m just influenced by the volume but it’s such a spectacle to behold and when the Pipes join in, eg when the three Drum Majors arrive with their charges to the Trooping the Colour , its goosebumps time! Drum Majors from different areas of the military and civilian bands use the staff/mace in slightly different ways. In addition the various Drum Majors featured all have their own individual style in applying the protocols to which they adhere. But all are proud as punch and why not! Top man as Drum Major is Senior Drum Major Gareth Chambers, seen at various points in this video, brandishing the staff/mace with confident but elegant expertise and seen here at 1:16:52 with a nice bit of swagger to boot! The band at this point are about to break into “The King’s Guard” which has a fabulous crescendo as they rev up to the finale. Who wouldn’t swagger with that fabulous sound! Thank you MrB for this gift. It’s much appreciated. All the best for the coming year, please can we have more of the same next year (except for your injury! Glad your shoulder is healed😎) Massive thanks also to all the hugely talented musicians that feature. It’s one thing to be able to play an instrument so beautifully and professionally but to be able to do so while on the move is so very impressive! Cheers👍

90 odd jeez. Ive must have watched and liked em all too. My goodness........ how time flies. Happy new year to you MrBaton74 and thanks for all the pleasure youve given us band music lovers this past year. Hope your broken shoulder has healed now. My sister has just suffered the same injury charging around madly as she often does. You both need to take it easier in 2025. Unless your filming the rifles/ghurkas bands in sprint mode of course lol.
