I wanted to share this because many journalists have also confirmed them to be Beast Games contestants. I'm doing my best to cover everything I can in regards to Beast Games. Yeah, but the reality is that despicable sections of human society have always used such "cautionary tales" as fuel for imagination for what they want to do next. It's the same thing with Margaret Atwood's Handmaid's Tale and how some religious extremist groups seem to have been inspired by it and are actively trying to strip women of human rights once again. Same for the racial segregationists in South Africa who studied slaving countries to make apartheid more effective there. This Squid Game-esque situation + MrBeast trying to control the narrative by blocking dissent on X, TikTok etc through his connections is really concerning too.

I remember that. I think she was kind of upset because she was prevented from winning, and she was really proud for doing so well until that point. I didn't know much about him then. I wasn't subscribed to him. Never had any interest to. Still don't. I only knew he is that guy who gives money to people and charities. So he seemed like a "good person." So, I was kind of neutral or didn't think much of it at first. Maybe he really did want to try to address her concerns. He is that charity "good guy," after all. But I quickly had empathy for her when I heard of all the backlash she was given. I hated that. She is such a nice person. I really think she is the person we see. She also doesn't seem like a drama person, so she at least makes you think about the story she was telling (she also wasn't the only one who had that complaint back then). But all the critics heard was how she said he gave "radio silence" when she tried to contact him, and they make fun of that. Dismissive stuff like that makes me mad. Now, though, I'm not neutral. Mr Beast is an A hole.

This is so nuts because as soon as you described the waiver, my first thoughts were of the man who ran McKamey Manor. If you don’t know, this is a horror/ haunted house attraction where the owner was dangling a $20,000 prize in front of people willing to endure what amounts to 10 plus hours of genuine torture. Funny that their waiver sure looks a lot like this, and that there have been several lawsuits filed toward him. He’s now been arrested for attempted murder. There is something wrong with men with power complexes thinking that dangling money in front of struggling people and getting them to dance like their own personal jesters is fine. It’s sadistic and truly scary that the world has put him on a pedestal and further reinforced this behavior.

The fact that you mentioned he was adamant about using non-union staff stuck out to me, too. It makes it so clear what his attitude is towards the whole thing, not just dehumanizing the competitors but taking advantage of everyone involved. Union means worker protections, protections means he wouldn't be able to take advantage of the crew or make them work on dangerous set conditions and would have to pay them fairly, provide food and meal breaks, and abide by set breaks, overtime, and off times, etc. This whole production was probably a nightmare, top to bottom.

As someone who's been in the medical industry for over 25 years, the part about withholding insulin alone is inexcusable; I remember having to run insulin up to a nursing home so that it could be given within the hour. I mean that literally; I was charging uphill with a styrofoam container in the dead of August because just getting it within the *hour* is that important. Squid Games was supposed to be a cautionary tale, but these evil clowns have used it as an instructon book. Type 1 Diabetic here. As you were reading the article, I was silently praying to myself that there wasn't a Diabetic contestant, solely due to the fact that they were being treated like this. It's sick. Not getting insulin when you need it is a severe issue, leading to high blood sugars and other complications. I can only imagine how many low blood sugars this contestant experienced as well. Most diabetics go low in extreme heat paired with the fact that they weren't getting fed at all, essentially, and the extreme physical exertion is disgusting.

So, everyone had a chance. However, for Beast Games, it sounds like it's a collection of physical sports. And if it's supposed to be hard, then there needs to be a proper vetting process, and people with any type of health condition should not be admitted!! As someone who is type 1 diabetic, it is such a scary thought to not have access to your insulin. You could go into shock and a coma if you go without it for days. Add onto the fact you are exercising in a stressful environment you could cause people to end up in the hospital. So many variables affect your diabetes it is crazy.

As a person who knows one of the contestants from my college it was pretty famous for a while that she was going but she came back like a sickly twig with a broken ankle from being stepped on by a man and she said she regretted being on. I feel so bad for anyone else involved. You can’t take away basic human needs and one important thing to point out a contract is not legally binding if there’s a point where someone’s life is at risk so anyone who feared for their lives had the right to sue and press charges. Thank you Rosanna for bringing this to attention. It was actually your previous video where you talked about your own experience with Mr Beast that made me realise he was bad news. There were so many things wrong with these games, but as someone with a severe food allergy, the idea of being given my allergen in a place where I didn't have my epipens on me is genuinely terrifying. Right now, most allergies/dietary restrictions can be catered for with relative ease (there's obviously exeptions for rarer allergies), so there is NO excuse for this.

You also are told ahead of time what to expect when going on Survivor. They have had 46 season without anywhere near as many issues as Beast Games. Beast games specifically said all food would be provided for, but then they didn't have enough food. It wasn't made obvious that not getting adequate food would be part of the 'challenge'. Thats the difference. Whether it was intentional or accidental its still not acceptable.

Yes! Naked and Afraid is also not quite as dangerous as you're supposed to believe. They have medical attention nearby, and civilization is actually often literally within earshot. I mean, I'm sure some contestants might have bad stories about how they were treated on Naked and Afraid, but still..the women weren't denied feminine hygiene products if they needed it during that time. I mean, they didn't show that part, but they did have access. 😅

I suspect from what was said in the video that not only were they understaffed but the staff wasn't any better vetted than the contestants. I think the largest contestant pool he had before this was the big glass box of KZbin creators and most of them would at least want to give the appearance of fair play lest Big G or their commercial sponsors decide that their bad behavior was actionable. Contestants without a public following and non-union staff alike would have no such disincentives toward bad behavior, and any staff who might be inclined to intervene would likely either be horrendously outnumbered or lack the authority or access, so anyone in either pool having a power/ego trip would most likely go uncontested.

This has its own caveats but at least they have the appropriately-trained/educated-and-licensed staff and the pharmacy on site to deal with it. (If you go to a hospital and _don't_ bring your meds, you'll have to convince them to re-prescribe anything you need while you're there, and they may need to consult your regular physician(s) before doing so.)
