@@Terrjo606 just explained how it would make no difference. If you want 10% of billionaires to be half as philanthropic as Jimmy, the world would be the same for the simple reason that there isn’t enough money to go around. Money is how you make improvements. There is nothing wrong with wanting to amass wealth, because in turn you provide a benefit to others, because that’s why they’re paying you in the first place. The billionaires have that money they do because of what they provide, otherwise people wouldn’t pay them that much. My point is that people should stay in their own lane and focus on what they do best, that’s how you give the most you can to the world. While charity is good for a community, it can only go so far. We don’t need to imagine “what if the billionaires were more caring?” It doesn’t matter. They can’t do a lot. Just focus on yourself

I don’t understand why everyone isn’t this way. Having safety, security, a comfy place to sleep, a safe drivable car, education, healthcare… these are things that make me crave money. Once those basic needs are met… why? Maybe travel… but even that you can do relatively affordably. His attitude doesn’t surprise me in the least, I find it far more surprising that the vast majority of people aren’t built this way? This is exactly my philosophy on life.

You obviously don't have money, it corrupts and makes you more and more greedy, the more you have. You don't need to spend it on the stuff, but when you do you feel better about yourself. It takes. Great will to not fall down that path.

@@christianbarrr9936 I disagree, most of the wealthiest people I've met (some multi-billionaires) all don't really care about money. For them it's about power. Whether you use that power for good or for evil is up to you, and as you said it takes a great will not to be corrupted by that power.
@Runningoutofideas151

People misinterpret happiness for comfort. People don’t try to buy happiness, they try to buy comfort. Where people go wrong is they think happiness is comfort, and keep chasing that, when you can only be so comfortable. And then they get depressed because they realize the threshold for maximum comfort is actually pretty low, if not, behind where they started. They just needed to realize that in that first place.

I'm not rich but I've had some tastes of luxury and I realized that its not everything its cracked out to be. Stayed at this country club in rich florida where people pay 7k a month rent to stay in season, and outside of the beautiful weather, it was such a soulless place. Entitled karens EVERYWHERE, endless shopping plazas, dress code, gated community makes it harder to do a simple errand. Virtually all the patrons were older white people, and the entire staff at the clubhouse was Jamaican seasonal workers. There was something that made me feel deeply uncomfortable about seeing an all-black staff catering to a rich all-white clientele. I prefer my little condo up north, where we have a real community and people are genuine. The rich people who do live up here blend in to the small community and everyone knows each other.

@@Something_Unique_512 I'm not a religious person, but one thing that I agree with the bible is: If you do charity, you must do it anonymously. Otherwise it is not charity and you're just doing it for your own gain. Bill Gates is another 'philanthropist' who does shady shit in the name of charity in India for example. It's about morals for me, yes it's great that there are people who do the kind of things Mr beast is doing. But there are millions of people who do the same things (with no resources), and they get next to zero credit for it and they're not making billions of dollars, they don't live luxurious lives, they live in the places they're trying to help. Those people are the true philanthropists for me. They do it with a pure and good heart and if you think Mr. Beast is, then I think you're naive.

It’s true, chasing a bigger box to live in makes no sense, but sometimes we do it for comfort and we dress well and drive nice things for excitement And to build confidence. but sometimes that excitement goes dim, and that comfort turns into entitlement, and that confidence turns into arrogance. 😪

The moment you realize money can't buy real happiness only give temporary fixes. I realised this long ago, and I think most in my country (one in Scandinavia) did so too. However in some countries, excess is just so brutally sought after that people do it with blind minds.
