I learned these Liszt songs through Pavarotti's earliest recitals in New York. Benjamin Bliss brings a refinement to them that is refreshing and adds to my admiration for the songs. Lachlan Glen's accompaniment is outstanding. Come to Portland. I'd kill to hear a recital like this today.

I'd love to! As a Seattle resident it's always nice to perform near home. Any local recital presenters we should be in touch with? Thanks for your comments-

The piano sounds hideous at any dynamic above mezzo piano!

What? Don't forget you're hearing it through sound equipment on stage, not from the audience. Try and listen to the piano solo version from the three Petrarch Sonets from Anées de Pilgrimage. I think you'll see where the piano part comes from.

I love Ben’s voice and singing! I truly dont like the pianist...

Their tempi are catastrophic, no logic dynamics at all. Good voice, no style. Boring. Shoes are terrible.

That not true. Possibly you're used to the twittering of the Mozart era, mostly either annoying nursery rhyme tunes or dreary, repetitive 'classical' ditties that kill real drama.
