Mr. Big - Addicted To That Rush (Live in Tokyo, 1991)

Latest remastered reissue album “MR.BIG” (2023 Remastered)
First released in 1989, evoXS has remastered Mr. Big’s debut album “Mr. Big” using hi-resolution digital transfers from the original analog master tapes and manufactured as a high-quality Hybrid SACD and MQA-CD. The MQA-CD includes the previously unreleased track “Want to Be Wanted” as a bonus track.
After 6 years, Mr. Big will reunite and return to Japan for a tour in 2023. Details will be announced at a later date. “Addicted To That Rush” was the lead-off single of the album, featuring the band’s aggressive guitar and bass playing. This newly restored live version by Mr. Big was filmed live at NHK Hall in Tokyo on Sept 26th,1991. Pat Torpey (drums), Billy Sheehan (bass), Eric Martin (vocals) and Paul Gilbert (guitar) are flowing in full power.
1989年に発売されたミスター・ビッグのデビュー・アルバム『ミスター・ビッグ』。日本で空前のブームを巻き起こした伝説的ロックバンドの記念すべきアルバムが、四半世紀以上の時を超え、新たに発見された未発表音源を収録し発売される。収録音源はオリジナル・マスター・テープから再リマスタリングし高音質に仕上げた音源を、MQA-CD、ハイブリッドSACDに収録。MQA-CD盤にはボーナストラックとして、未発表音源「ウォント・トゥ・ビー・ウォンテッド」を加えた全13曲を収録、SACD盤にはオーディオ・ファン向けに5.1 サラウンドの音源をオリジナル盤と同様全11曲を収録し（SACD盤にはボーナストラック「ウォント・トゥ・ビー・ウォンテッド」は収録されておりません）、伊藤政則氏による解説も封入される。さらにファン待望の来日公演が今夏に決定。バンドとしては、2017年以来6年ぶりの来日を果たす。詳細については後日発表される。
今回の来日公演決定と再発盤の発売を記念し、1991年に東京で行われた公演で演奏した「アディクテッド・トゥ・ザット・ラッシュ」のライブ映像を公開。

このライヴ、NHKホールの2階席で観てました。ポールがこの曲のギターソロ後のコーラス後にバックステップしながら転倒してしまったり、To Be With Youではアコースティックギターのトラブルでエレキギターで演奏したり。アンコールのババ O‘ライリーもカヴァー曲なのに大合唱だったり。また2ndアルバム発売後間もないタイミングであったにも関わらず新曲も大合唱で凄まじい人気者になってるな、という印象の来日公演でありました。 今振り返ると各メンバーのポテンシャルとか勢いも最高潮の時期だったように思います。

Saw Mr Big open for Rush on presto tour at Fiddlers green at red rocks the bill was Scorpions Great White with Al Patrelli on lead guitar Mr Big and Kix .Saw them at the paramount in Denver with Hardline Saw Paul Gilbert with Joe Satriani and John petrucci a G3 show at the paramount Saw Billy Sheehan in Steve Vai band at a g3 concert at the Fillmore Denver and Eric Martin open for Schenker at the oriental theater and Mr Big at the Oriental theater the Big Finish tour I hope the big finish tour goes on and on Fantastic band and musicians. I will never get over the fact that, as the opening track off their first album, they nailed this live in a single take. *Incredibly* talented guys. I saw them on the first and last shows of the Lean Into It tour, beginning and ending in Scotland. I last saw them in Manchester a few years back, featuring one of Pat's final appearances - RIP, you star. Due to see them next month, then again in July with Living Colour, as awesome a double-header as they come. Can't wait.

My current interest in Paul Gilbert is what gravitated me here, and quite frankly, I'm embarrassed to say, I forgot how kick ass you guys were,( and still are, as I listen to you now). Now that I'm older, I find myself reflecting on how much I forgot, and disecting each part. To be honest, I wasn't a band geek in the sense that I knew everything about each band member, but I knew what I liked. Today's technology has rejuvenated my interest in bands such as yourselves.
