My first jetski ride to Catalina Island and this is perfect! Do you use a water proof case.. I’m using four GoPro 7 blacks.

Thanks for this mate - good tips! Super random question - but how the heck do you keep you hat on while you ski? Mine flies off, even at low speed.

Are those stickers safe to use? I’m little worried that stickers might loose tackiness in the water🤨
@TheLanesOfficial4 жыл бұрын
They are really good but I would change them every few months to be safe, if putting them at the front of the ski find something to tie them down with just in case the sticker falls off

U ever use the suction cup on a jetski? Or is that not recommended 😂

No I haven’t on a spark I don’t think it would work and if it did it would be a huge risk to the life of the GoPro 😂

How many cameras do you use at a time? One for each mount position? Or do you use 1 camera and move the positions as you ride?
@TheLanesOfficial4 жыл бұрын
For this video I used just one camera, however if I had a 2nd I run 2 so I didn’t need to move it about. Very rarely do I ever use standard GoPro on the ski as i don’t really like the view. My personal choice for jet ski footage is the Insta360 camera 📷.

Bro I have a quick question. If you film everything in 1080 60fps wouldn’t your video timeline be 60fps so slowing down a 60fps to 24fps would look off?? You’d have to shoot the timeline footage at 24fps and then all the slow mo footage at 60fps. Then when you take 40% of that it’ll match up for the 24fps timeline. Is that what you do?
@TheLanesOfficial4 жыл бұрын
The bottom part of your question sounds right. You want everything on your timeline to match upto the 24fps. So if you shoot the 60 frames you want that at the equivalent of 24fps which is the 40%
@ethannaka18224 жыл бұрын
The Lanes - Travel & Reviews but what if you don’t want all of your footage to be solo mo? Can you put 60fps in a 24fps timeline without slowing it down and will it look normal? Thanks. The reason I’m asking is because I’d like to shoot all in 60fps but I don’t want to have to make all of the film slow mo to fit a 24 or 30fps timeline . Not sure if I’m explaining that right haha.
@TheLanesOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can put the 60fps into a 24fps timeline and it will be fine. I was talking more about slo mo so people avoid the choppy footage by going to slow. Hope that helps
@martinXY4 жыл бұрын
I use FCPX, so my answer may only apply to that. If you set up a 30p timeline and drop in 60p, 120p or whatever footage, FCPX will automatically conform that footage to play back at normal speed in your timeline. You still have access to the fast framerate of your original footage if you want to do slomo. Let's say you drop 30 seconds of 120p in a 30p timeline. Play it back and it plays 30 seconds at "normal speed". Then you decide to slow the middle 10 seconds to ¼ speed. Set the range (10 seconds), apply the speed (25%) and now you'll have a timeline that plays back in 60 seconds (beginning 10 seconds, next 10 slowed down to play at ¼ speed, so 40 seconds, then the final 10) and 30fps and looks good doing it.
