I cry every time I hear this. Every. Single. Time. I think of my mom who has passed. My Dad who has passed. So much emotion. It is so important and moving to me as I move through life. I love you Dave Matthews and Company.

I echo your sentiment, as my mother and father have passed on as well. I am thankful for their teachings and often cry myself when I hear this song. This Father’s Day was a tough day for me, and this song brings me tears of joy and remembrance.

My brother "introduced" me to DMB nearly 30 years ago. We printed most of these lyrics for his prayer card for his funeral; he passed away two years ago today -- way too soon. Sometimes DMB is not easy to listen to (like today) but some days, it's the comfort I need.

Im 99% sure this is from July 2001 Folsom Field Boulder CO.... 1 of the best versions of this song... Love how much feeling he puts into his music.... Vegas March 1, 2024, can't come fast enough......

I went to the show here in Atlanta and I was kind of disappointed. No old songs - maybe 1-2 from Busted Stuff. Of course they were incredible.

I did Northerly Island and Farm-Aid for 2023. Have Vegas coming up, hoping they play Alpine Valley this year and already put in for the days off for The Gorge...... Took my wife to her 1st Dave show Alpine 2022 and I think she is a bigger fan than I am now. She never understood how I was into Dave( she heard all the radio play stuff) til she saw them live and it truly changed her whole perception of music.

Agreed. I remember getting this version as a bonus cd with the album that year and playing it over and over again….back in 2002. Im going to Vegas too! So excited!

Update..... Got 2 day Alpine and 2 day Noblesville....... Hope to see y'all there. And if ur gonna be in Vegas see you in 6 days... God I love Summer Tour. Thank You DMB for the years of incredible shows and great memories. Cracks me up when our daughter asks why we would see the same band 2 days in a row 2 weekends in a row.🤣 She just doesn't get it.

Favorite DMB track and the absolute best version! This song just hits harder in two places, Colorado and The Gorge. Never has a DMB song craved a background such as those two spots and during a sunset

These lyrics are great. I’ve met many singer/songwriters that have praised him. So many amazing song with incredible lyrics performed incredibly. I’m a huge fan but if you take his lyrics, and show them to someone who is into poetry then they react pretty awesomely. I’ve done it a few times with a few of my friends and they always love his lyrics. Gosh damn. I love this band and the music they’ve made for over thirty years.

I was there and had heard this song through the Lilywhite Sessions. It was still officially unreleased, but I'd played it 100 times. One of the best moments from the hundreds of concerts I've seen.

When I hear this, it reminds me of what the Bible states in James about a fervent prayer and in Romans when Matthews sounds like he's praying in tongues. I love this song.

@@felmusik5043 Problemas de abuso sexual con un integrante de una banda a quienes Boyd apoyaba como manager. La banda de Dave Matthews decidió prescindir de él, ante la claridad de los hechos. En la actualidad, los conciertos de DMB siguen siendo espectaculares, pero el vacío en los temas donde Boyd hacía sus solos e intervenciones de violín se notan mucho.

It was released on cd as well as dvd. Definitely from Boulder. Listen to it all the time. The Wizard of Oz theme is the giveaway

David writes all his songs, and his band plays exactly his notes. This song, If anyone would listen to the end, could potentially be a DMBand fan. After this song, I became a fan and enjoyed all the rest.
