The most humble musician ever. If you don't know Dave and his catalog... You won't be disappointed getting into it, especially live.

Has to be live to truly appreciate DMB. Might I suggest Live at Red Rocks for a taste kzbin.info/aero/OLAK5uy_kC1dFcRGBymds6-vfaTa0bfY2A1jfTceA, or anything from their Central Park concert. Remember, this is live audio: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKTPeJt-pM6glbs

@@krash2fast99 That is my favorite live concert of theirs, hands down (Central Park). I enjoy nothing more than putting that DVD on, grabbing my Taylor guitar (bought cuz that is what Dave played for a long time) and jam along with them. Cheers!

You can't say that. Music is a very subjective thing. There's no way everyone can like a particular artist.

@@del_84 Yes he can. He can say whatever he likes, even if you don’t agree with it. Wtf do you mean “he can’t say that”?!? Because you say so, your royal highness? Who made you king of KZbin?

@@del_84 My comment was directed at @rogueRxyce since she clearly appreciated Dave's voice and this song/rendition. With that information I felt confident enough to suggest listening to the rest of his catalog since, I believe, there are much better songs and live performances available. Like their music or not they are an amazing, talented live band to watch. One Love.

THANK YOU 🙏🏼 I’m 30 and was basically raised on Dave. My 2 older sisters started bringing me to his shows when I was 11 and my oldest sister took her life the next year so it had always been very sentimental for my whole family and especially my other sister and I. Dave is an incredibly gifted lyricist and it’s truly a shame how he’s dismissed.

Dave Matthews is hands down one of the most intense, direct, raw lyricists in music's history. I often wonder if he's aware of his own power which is in a class of it's own among the greats. An exceptional writer, performer, vocalist, singer, instrumentalist. He's an all rounder and all all rounders have been known to be out of this world.

Dave absolutely paints like van gogh with words. It always made me laugh how in the 90s dave was an absolute sex symbol (i felt it too) despite the fact he sings with facial expressions like a man being hit by a taser while having violent gastric distress. But i think that is why he is so attractive - he puts absolutely 200% into his voice and emotional release while singing. You cant help but be touched deeply by someone like that

I'll be 60 this year and I've been wanting to see him in concert for over 20 years and...finally! Saw him last year for the first time and it was everything I knew it would be. I'm beyond thrilled that you felt what I've been feeling about his music for so long. Seeing him live..he sings from his soul. He wrings the emotions right out of you and he and his fantastic band will provide a show you won't soon forget. The beauty of this band is they always seem to sing like its the first concert they've ever done. They don't phone it in. He especially doesn't. He sings, whispers, growls, cajoles...and you react right along with him. You can't help it...

This reaction made me quite emotional. Dave matthews has saved my life several times over the last 25 years. You should start by reading about Dave's history....where he came from ...his family...etc. then go back in time and start listening to his music. His music will suck you in and you will be a life long super fan. With Dave , you are either super fans or they general don't like his music. There is no in-between. It's like a club. Either you are in or you're out. Your life will be better for being in. I guarantee that every single person in the audience knew every single word of that song. He's that powerful. Dave is also a generous caring human ...very down to earth and grounded. He shines mostly when he has his big bang and they are all geniuses. Tim is a guitar genius. You can see Dave alone on tiny desk concert if you want to see him up close and personal. I hope you keep going and become a super fan.

Don’t mistake the felt effects as cause. I have to argue that the “this” you speak of, the reaction of the listener, is but an EFFECT of the performance, the motive for which, is simply authentic & personal, for Dave.. and as a result of exactly THAT, we feel it..& it resonates to the extent that we end up personalizing it. The gift of the artist is their authentic raw emotion that, by definition, must come from deep within. Bartender, please. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

Ahhhh I feel like I haven't been to a show in decades! It's hard to explain. People use to say "I can't believe you're going to another concert!!" In response...what concert? It's a show or to see DMB. Concert sounds so generic to me. Then there's the "OMG how many times can you go see the same band? Why go more than once?" WHY?!?! Not only was it 2 sets but for 25 yrs(at least) a different show a different set list...NEVER the same! I am a CHRISTIAN! Always have been. When I say it's like church i don't mean like Dave's a God. When you're waiting to go in especially Pit People we wait hours & hours. Heat or rain it doesn't matter bc we come prepared. Eat, drink & be merry take a nap start it all again yea that kinda wait. I don't socialize much bc my anxiety is ridiculous unless I'm dranking! The excitement we share!! You're almost giddy or we are. This comment is way too long!! We laugh we cry we dance & holy hell if it's your 1st show...life changing! You want to get railed of course if ur in Pit!!! You can hear all the chatter when he starts an intro guessing what it's gna be & when we figure out we go CRAZY!!!! OK this is dumb long. Sorry. Bathroom reading! 🐜🐖🐒✨🥃🍻🐐

SOULISH OR SPIRITUAL? Verse 14 of 1st Corinthians says, "But a soulish man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him and he is not able to know them because they are discerned spiritually." Soulish men are those who have not been regenerated By Holiness and who do not have a new spirit. They do not have an intuition; what they have is only the mind, emotion, and will of the soul. They can reason, judge logically, and express what they like, but they cannot "receive the things of the Spirit of God" because they do not have a regenerated spirit.

Dave is a poet, story teller, teacher, a musician and so much more. When you act out your own art in such a theatrical performance, there's more to what you are than you know yourself, because you may never know how your performance effected so many others in so many different ways.

Since I first witnessed DMB live, his live performances are absolutely spiritual. He never plays a 65 minute set.. He gets into an absolute trance. Plays his heart out, every song, every note, acknowledging his fans, jokes with the audience & plays for well over two hours.. It's non stop perfection. He has mastered his craft. He is a poet, phenomenal performer & magical, soulful, blessed singer/songwriter/musician that has been getting better with each passing year.. Every one of his songs is masterful.. Dave Mathews is 'master class' & an absolute soundtrack of our lives, journey & path in life.. He is One of the greatest. Been touring for well over 30+ years & still creating, performing and making us fans feel fulfilled & happy after creating songs that make you remember certain times of your life, memories, growth, path/journey. He still gives me the chills at age 44.. He is a true gift to music lovers. 30+ years of Quality, Original, masterful music.. tours/shows still give me the chills!!
