I went from a tuned mk5 GTI to a 2023 GR86 and I have to say I really miss the amount of power the GTI could produce with just the stock FSI engine. The GTI platform is so underrated and I would honestly get another one someday.

@@redrosevisuals ooo sexy, but dont think much of the engine size, ive got a mitsubishi evo x fq440, its a 2.0L Turbo inline 4. Got it making 520 horsepower right now. Mitsubishi claims 3.6s 0-60 at stock (400hp). Even stuff like the gr yaris which is what? A 3cyl? That is capable of making something like 600 horsepower? A small engine doesnt mean it wont destroy v8s with ease ;)

Looking at STIs - they’ve been my dream car since early Forza days. That 2020 with built block with big turbo was the only car that seemed to be able to keep up, but man it costs a lot to get those cars reliably into that 500 hp range

I too have a sleeper GTI but its a MK6 with stock wheels. Only exterior mods are clear reflectors and Euro Dark tails. I'm in Houston so its tricky to get people to line up and play bc its a lot of 700+ vettes and mustangs but I have shorter gears than factory so I rip on 50-70 rolls. You make us GTI guys proud, keep it up!

My mk7.5 DSg is slowly getting there. I just recently put it on and EQT stage 1 with my MBRP catback and it is a night and day difference compared to the OTS stage 1 COBB gives you. I am assuming I'm around 300 hp since that is what it says they should make with the tune along with basically getting 30 psi without even being WOT in sports mode. It is quite ridiculousl actually lmao.

The cobra towards the end, and the blue sti looked like they could almost keep up if they didn't have so much time loss and ground speed loss from the manual transmission shifts. Don't get me wrong, I love running a clutch and a stick, but if both are done right, the transmission with the least amount of ground speed loss between shifts will always be faster than any alternative. Nice video!!

There's some Golf R that run 600 hp at the wheels, with the same engine and only moderate differences between them. But if you want a reliable big HP AE888 engine, you'll have to open it up and put forged parts in it, make sure the fueling system is up for it, and make sure your cooling is over the top.

@@knotical689 actually is38s are not twinscroll, Ko4 was the last twinscroll turbo from the 6R or gti mk 6 edition 35 they spool up a lot faster than is38s but the mk7 never had a twin scroll turbo . It is most definitely a single turbo flange on the intake I upgraded my 7 recently. You could even Google it . But nice bro all the best with the ko4, the hybrid ko4 is a problem . Is38s are way bigger they're "factory" hybrid turbos so are the is20s

For sure mine makes 550/511tq on a mustang dyno at only 25psi with a 3576r hoping for 600s at 30+ psi

@@gabrenvarnum3167 that's a healthy number. I think a general rule of thumb is estimated at about 15hp per lbs of boost you add so long as the turbo has the room for it and that turbo has plenty of room in it. I think you'll be well into the 600s

@@shawnl9801 you kids are something else well, since a 2018 to 2019 golf r goes for anywhere between 26,000 and 32,000 dollars and 2018 2019 mustang gt 10speed goes for guess what yep same price, lmao 🤣 seriously! Ok now with the mustang you could throw a ess kit (8400 with the fuel system included) and some wheels and tires (3500-4200) so for 12,500 dollars would make the mustang completely untouchable to ANY gti (even the fastest in the world with the engine that came with the car) . So now are you gonna sit here and tell me jewel city doesn’t have close to or more then 12,000 in mods including wheels and tires on that car? Turbo’s aren’t cheap my guy. You tell me how far apart they are now🤷🏻‍♂️
