After all many “white’ Western tourists have been invited to humble Nepali homes for a visit, why not a black African tourist. The two girls were very friendly and treated him with great respect and kindness, but probably were hesitant to take him home due to personal reasons. No big deal.

Of course, two students no matter girl/boy would hesitate if any Stanger asked about going to his/her home as they are not the one taking responsibilities and we are taught that never show strangers where your home is, maybe in Africa it's allowed. But in India it's not. Maybe if he wants he can still ask for it to a boy who may has job but I don't think that if he asks to come home to students and especially girl then he will get to go in their home to show it. Also he did same with a girl who was in Marine Drive, Mumbai. She is same as my age but even I was feeling that he should not ask about going to home to students

It's always good to be careful . I'm from Goa, India and we also have all sorts of tourists here, white, black, yellow etc. Most tourists are decent people, but some are giving everyone else a bad name. Nothing wrong if the girls avoided to take him home. I'm sure they would do the same with a white tourist too. In Goa we have many incidents where European, middle eastern and African tourists have misbehaved in people's homes.
