Anyway I was away for 3 and a half months and in that time the car quit starting with the key the wipers would come on for no reason the lights would flash on and off (it had that problem before and I fix it with a light switch)and the dome light would come on and drain the battery and I got out and never saw it do any of this. Oh yeah I got it from a garage sale for $300 from some woman that inherited it from her uncle. The motor was worth more than I paid now I know why. Magnificent build. 42 years ago, came across a 55 Buick for 30 bucks, on the ground, no floor, frame bout gone. And everyone at this particular time said, no way, nothing can be done, I left it, it went on to junk. Christine has always been one of my favorite Stephen King stories. I had an opportunity to buy a 58 Fury back in the early 90s. It was somewhat complete, did need some rust repair, but that wasn't the reason I didn't buy it. What stopped me from buying it was the trim. It was missing the vast majority of the bright trimwork, and what was there needed to be repaired and re plated. Keep in mind this is pre internet. It wasn't that easy to source parts. Having things like bumpers chrome plated is extremely expensive. If I was going to build "Christine" it would need to be perfect. And I just wasn't in a financial situation that made it possible.

Very impressive what you are doing here, mating this 1958 plymouth to a chevy station wagon frame and running gear.

Thanks. I appreciate that.

Thanks for the detailed descriptions! I just re-read (listened)to Christine. Love these ol’ gals! Camera work is great! This is a day in the life kind of stuff. Just like I’m standing there. Most of the times the camera viewfinder/screen can’t compete with the sun…plenty of light means that camera/phone/whatever will love it. I’m a new subscriber, thanks for the post! Happy New Year

Ive wanted one of these cars since i saw the movie at the theatre! Me and my Dad went to see Dirty Harry Sudden Impact and didnt know it was a double feature that day. Christine was the opener! I think I've seen the movie about 100 times now. Anyway i will be following your progress on this car. Awesome!
