Yeah... You have that "sleep-deprived dad" look. 😉 Good idea for the button. In our case, we have a lot of new smart lighting in our renovated kitchen that a button could be used to choose among a small number of scenes/scenarios. I've got a new Tuo button (and some old, non-Matter Aqara ones) that will fit the bill... (That said, I look forward to dual-gang - or even multi-gang - Matter/Thread buttons to give me more than the 3 scene options a single-gang gives you...)

@@camsecore thank you!! Great video showcasing the use cases. I love hearing about the different ways people use it, especially when it comes to making doing mundane tasks easier.

Yeah, agree about the fussiness of NFC tags…

I heard you don’t need the hub for the button. Can you confirm this after having it this long? I know you mentioned in the video you did but can you confirm that months after the video?
@camsecore9 ай бұрын
For which button? Aqara button needs a hub. Tuo button doesn't need a hub.
@vr6trooper9 ай бұрын
@@camsecore I swear I saw something that said it asks for a hub but that person said he didn’t need one. Idk 🤷♂️. BUT I already have a bunch of Philips hue stuff so I just bought an outlet and I’ll pair it with my switch and hub. It was much cheaper. The switch outlet and hub from aqara was like $110 so just the hue outlet was cheaper this time even though I spent more money a while but that’s not how boy math works 😂

Ikea has a bunch of buttons too for cheap.

The Tuo is cool but doesn't look as good as the Aqara buttons. Having an Aqara hub also adds the ability to add a lot of there other sensors.

I just hate how companies think removing physical interfaces is cool and hip and force you to do everything over your smartphone. I want to do it either over my phone, but as well just turn on my desk lamp by hand. This is human-centric, everything else is just stupid tech-fetishism and ultimately just bad design.
@camsecore Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree! The nice thing about software-only interfaces is that it can always be updated and if it breaks, and there are less moving parts. But no physical interface is usually just a cost-cutting measure by companies.
