You should insulate your garage door with the reflective material you can glue to the garage door.

Nice! I actually installed two of these Mr Cool units about two years ago. I put one in our sun room (it is 16x28ft on the back of our house, it is almost all windows, and originally had no a/c installed. It was like a green house inside!) and one in our walk-out basement. They work great. And it is nice that you don't have to get an HVAC tech out to charge it. Mine are still running great, keeps our sunroom at 72 degrees summer or winter with no problem. Now you have me wishing I had installed one in my shop too! You will love it man. Looking forward to more S10 videos.

I'd really like one of these units in my garage shop in Albuquerque but the walls and attic are not insulated but drywalled! Who does that? At age 74 they are not a DIY install.😥

I've got the same stud finder, it's hit or miss. About to do the AC install in our garage as well.

Your finally not going too sweat your nuts off now lol . Ac is the way too go wen you are pushing high temperature. Especially in the garage it's like a giant hot box . AKA coffin . Well great install job rob and hopefully . We can see you , get back too the truck.

Why did you go with the 24k size unit? How's it working out?
@RobbyVsGarage3 жыл бұрын
Because it was the only size available at the time. Works amazingly!

Good to see another video! Out of curiosity, I would have assumed the angle you had to run the hoses out at would be for drainage, so wouldn't coming out and then immediately going UP and over kind of defeat the purpose, or is the downward angle for some other purpose? I have 0 home HVAC experience, as well, so I'm just trying to wrap my head around it.
@RobbyVsGarage3 жыл бұрын
The downward angle is just for the drain hose. Where the condensation from the unit drains.

As a native Arizonan , I am very interested in one of these units! What size is your garage? Do you think insulating the garage door will help as well? Nice job on the install!!
@RobbyVsGarage3 жыл бұрын
It’s about 550 sq ft. Insulating the garage door would definitely help.

Robby great video. I live in Mesa and am wanting to get a mini split. I have had 2 companies come out so far to give quotes. Odds are that I will do it my self with the MR cool. Why did you pick the 24K unit? According to the SqFt of your garage that unit is to big. One company said to put a 24K and another said to put a 36K. He said a 24K would not cool my garage to the 70's. My garage is a 660sqft 3 car garage. I have read that if your unit is too big for your sgft that it will not run efficiently and may run into issues of over heating. Have you had any issues with your unit being so much bigger than needed for your sqft of your garage? I want to pull the trigger and buy the 24K from Costco for $1499.00 but am worried that it will be to big. Please let me know how you like your system now that you have had it for awhile through the hot months.

I picked the 24k because that’s all I could find. I haven’t had any issues and it cools my garage fast and hardly runs. I keep it at 75

@@RobbyVsGarage Thanks for the reply. How well insulated is your garage?

@@RobbyVsGarage Oh OK. Sorry for all the questions but what size of breaker was installed in the panel?

Is it normal for the left side of the AC unit to be flushed the wall but not the right side due to the line set? I’ve installed a 3-zone unit and every one of the AC unit has the right side sticking out a bit, but the left side is early flat with the wall.
