@Slitwire No, he's still an ass. I won't say an assHOLE, but an ass nonetheless. Have you never heard the expression, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"? That's literally this story. We all understand that the MC was doing what he thought was right, as a panicked and terrified parent, but the fact that if he had just given a heads up to ANY of his family most of this stuff wouldn't have happened. Now you can say, "Oh well we don't know that, only what happened in the story" and you're right for the most part but we can very well imagine realistically. If he had told his wife, she would have been horrified, stressed and worried. But would have ALSO most likely kept a closer eye in her daughter, ever vigilant from this psycho instead of being blindsided when she got snatched outta nowhere
@taylatay41003 жыл бұрын
@Slitwire If he had told his kids, even if it was the watered down, " Now kids, when you get approached by a stranger, even if they say they are a friend you should..." and this could have likely put a wrench in dude's plan. If the husband told his wife about the presents, she could have maybe spotted the new one at their daughter's bday and maybe intercepted. 🤷🏽♀️ Which is why we don't keep things from our family for their well-being, because it always becomes hurtful to their well-being
@faebunny82393 жыл бұрын

I wrote this, and I will admit if there was one thing I would change (and am changing slightly in the script I'm working on for the adaptation), it was that he didn't tell his wife what was going on. Originally, there was an entire subplot about their time apart from each other after Katie is kidnapped which developed the wife's character a bit more, but I obviously ended up removing it. When someone gets shot in the throat and left to bleed out they don't come back. So im gonna take the "I killed him and rescued my family ending" because adding in a "and then he came back" to the ending doesn't make the story better in any way, it's just a cheap ploy to try and make it seem scarier. The terror of losing family, of knowing someone is directing intentional malice at you from some unreachable place, is the real horror of this story, not some Michael Myers or Jason villain who never dies
@kelvenoptimusmaximus43017 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's what it meant, I think it meant that even though Katie claims she only saw one kidnapper at any given time it could be that each different mask denotes a different member of the crime syndicate, given that one person could probably not pull all off this off alone. Even with all his compatriots back at Daisy's Diner.

I mean I agree but at the same time, people of small towns know everybody and everything that goes on through their lives. Have you edited this story since writing the version that MrCreepyPasta reads because the ending is nice but I didn't feel it completely made up for some of the weaker writing in other parts of the story. Examples include that the wife, the son, and the daughter really have no character other than that they are the protagonist's wife, son, and daughter. Hell, you could have cut the son out of the story and it wouldn't really have changed anything. Speaking of characters, I feel a lot of the things the bad guy does in this story is justified by just saying that he crazy, like why did he mutilate the dog? And why did he kill his daughter? Throughout the story, there were moments, that I can't specifically recall right now, but that just kept taking me out of the story, and they all culminated to the moment when the protagonist wakes in the room with the TVs, and that completely took me out of the story. Earlier in the story, you were going for a very realistic tone, telling a story about a family being tormented by a faceless, mysterious stalker, and then the guy is in a underground room with tons of TVs in it where the villain threatens him be broadcasting himself live to all the TVs, and it suddenly feels like it SAW Movie. That scene took me out because it was very tone-ly inconsistent and made the story feel kind of silly. This may not be a real flaw, but I thought the story was going to get really dark at the end, and the protagonist was going to be murdered by the townspeople who were in on the kidnapping ganging up to murder him. I was hoping that wouldn't be the ending because then this would be one of those frustrating Creepypastas that leaves you saying, "Then who the f wrote this story?" (Creepypasta/noSleep Stories are fiction but they are fiction that try to convince you that their stories did happen.) But it was really weird that no other townspeople showed up to gang up on the protagonist because that's what it felt like the revelation in the bad guy's house that many of the townspeople were in on the kidnapping was building up to. Even if that wasn't meant to be the case, you would think the diner woman would have warned the bad guy that the father was looking for a barn with an X. It didn't seem like the bad guy knew he was coming when he felt like he should. The letter said bring no one or the girl dies, but from how this story went down, he could have brought people with him and the bad guy wouldn't have known until they already started pulling guns on him. These are just some of the things I had problems with, so I would like to ask again, have you revised this story anymore since?

You know in your own heart how physically and emotionally tough you are. You literally cannot protect anyone from the world.
@kiralonely3 жыл бұрын
This. Also, your language isn't any bad, it's expected in the situation of the stupidity of the main guy. Regardless of intention, all he's doing is giving the stalker the advantage of surprise and guard's being down, ruining his own relationship, and showing his wife he doesn't trust her when she does eventually find out. It's, there's no good side to the situation, and it's one that people need to realize is very stupid. It's one of those things where you shouldn't have to prove your own toughness or masculinity or any of that, nor is it the time.
@guteral4953 жыл бұрын
I agree, I also can agree with the fact that , a person never truly knows love till they have a child. Knowing how I feel as a father I cannot imagine a mother being any kinda forgiving if a man knowing withheld the fact that her child was in danger ,,,,, of anything.

MrEpicMouse I would be surprised. He sometimes has trouble even finishing the narrations he's started. The Darklings, Confessions of a Deep Sea Diver, and The Twin Paradox to name some of my favorites. @@TheLudlowReaper Well the problem is when you make a video on a piece like this, and the author isn't done, or sees the success and adds to it, it becomes really hard to constantly keep it updated. And then to continue with sequels and updates would take away the ability to draw attention to different stories. So perhaps these should be taken more as a 'up to this point complete' narration, and then any updates or sequels you'll have to watch the actual author for. Spreading the attention so to speak.

Are you doing this? Here's what you do in this situation ladies and gentlemen 1st tell your family 2nd have security cameras installed all around the house 3rd get a security system installed and tell your family the code in a small room that is checked for cameras and or listening devices 4th have large deadbolts installed that can only be locked from the inside and can't be unlocked from the outside or have it be a normal deadlock that can be unlocked from the outside but it requires a separate key from your normal house key 5th give everyone in your family guns and tell them to shoot anyone that is not in the family ie brother or father or mother keep the guys under your pillow 6th have everyone in your family armed with a hidden places in a reachable spot. What do I mean by reachable I mean if you are in bed be choked to death you are able to grab your knife and stab the attacker that's what I mean by reachable 7th this only applies for kids if the stalker tries to lure the kids away for kidnapping while they are in bed play along until he is far away from your bed enough that you can safely pull a gun out and shoot. There you are for your survive a guy who can break into your house with ease this guide gives you 4 layers of protection against attackers. P. S when you tell your family about the guns do it in a room that was checked for cams and listening devices that is also small. You're welcome future family that needs to protect themselves
