Great ride Daz, brought back memories as a kid living in Galgate, some great and quiet roads. Got out Wednesday upto Delph. It’s great to go fast, but best to ride at the speed of the slowest rider. Nice to see the lads supporting Mike, take care their, Alan.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures3 жыл бұрын
You can't beat a ride around Delph Alan. It can get very hilly though ! and living up near Calgate must have offered you some cracking cycling lanes I bet.

Another great video Daz, Glasson Docks is a nice place. Beautiful countryside and weather too. Mike definitely needs his own geology and parrot channel 😂🤣. That clip of Mike getting a helping hand, thats what cycling's all about having a good bunch of mates to go out with.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Di, I think this ride had it all. Me n' Mike have done a lot of rides recently and he is back up to full fitness now. On this ride he was toast at 70 miles but he stuck at it and the guys giving him a push was a great show of team work and support. Another cycling channel once referred to a helping hand in a totally different way which is a shame because to me it's part of cycling .

Thanks 252, don't work too hard though . Lancaster has a great little feel to it these days ,I cycled over that suspension bridge on the WOTR and the river Lune is one of the North West's great rivers.

My area Lancaster - beautiful area for cycling. If only I had the guts and skill to descend like you can.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures3 жыл бұрын
You are very fortunate to have all of this on your doorstep Cwil, as for the descending I love it but I am always assessing my speed and trying not to over cook it on the bends, it is great fun though .
@252Scooby3 жыл бұрын
Yeah so where you got split up going left is towards cockerham & wallings or to the right was towards knott end , often from knott end back to Lancaster there is a whacking tail wind on the flats great fun

Back in Bowland! Superb roads Daz, did you go past Jubilee Tower after the Trough or turn off before that. Missed those sort of rides this year, hope I can get over and check out the cafe next year. Love Mike's Specialissima!

We didn't do the route passed the tower , I know where you mean though above Quernmore. It's ace around them parts. Mike's bike is a beauty.

Thanks Daz, a lovely film. 😢plenty of places there I know well. Used to take my Dad for lunch at the Glasson cafe, in the time of the previous owners. Am I a Neanderthal if I’m using a garmin 520? 😂
@MrDazP1adv3ntures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sophie, this is always a great ride out and we did it again towards the end of this summer again. You just can't beat the cycling lanes around here in Lancashire. BTW I use a Garmin Touring GPS which is still old school but works perfectly for me as I don't ride to power, cadence and heart rates etc.

Daz. Great video as usual , just a quick question , i've done a couple of 100k rides this year and looking to extend it out to a 100miles next year, how do u fuel on ur rides, do u snack as ur going along, like i did on the 100k rides or do u get to the half way point have your bacon butty and then turn and come back.
@MrDazP1adv3ntures3 жыл бұрын
Hi Graeme , I tend to fuel up before a ride with toasted fruit loaf, porridge and lots of syrup, a banana and a coffee. That will keep me going for 50 miles. I carry a cereal bar just in case and a gel bar for the last push home if needed. The key is to keep hydrated throughout the ride and to stop at corner shops if needed.
