The best British songwriter of my life. Saw him several times in the 70s and 80s in folk clubs in and around London. Thank you Harvey for being THE Writer of Songs.

First saw Harvey Andrews not long after he had written The Soldier. We were In a club called The Bamboo in Hazel Grove Stockport. Such a long time ago. My friends and I loved his songs and I'm still a huge fan today some 50 odd years later

It seems like yesterday that my daughter and I sat in front of him while he showcased his latest song. We were both sitting there streaming tears. He's a man in a billion.

Thank you VERY MUCH for this clip! This is the BEST SONG of the BEST MUSICIANS ever! I love this song! A thousand thanks to his Aunt Joan, without which there would have been this beautiful song ever.

Harvey's family did not prevail everyday family relationships. His father and his brother married two sisters. His mother "Louise" 1991 celebrated its 70th Birthday. On this occasion she received from her 80 year old sister "Joan" from New Zealand a greeting card. It said the main theorem of this masterpiece: "Is it really that long since I held my tiny little Sister, Is it really that long since I held her tiny little Hand." From these two lines then the complete lyrics was - from Harvey!
