I always wonder if Emmy is trying to open it properly or not. The key is to open the peelable seal right in the middle where the seal comes to a point. If you open it at that point it allows you to focus all of the pressure on a small part of the seal. The seal fails fairly often anyway but it helps if you try to open from the right spot.

Since they haven't gusseted the beverage bag, wait until your main entree is heated, then use the cardboard container for that. Pretty sure the bottom folds together to make an stand. But I retired from the army in 2011. So this is new fangled technology and menus to me. 😂

I’m near deaf and so rely on the captions to enjoy Emmy’s videos and the captions for when she says “Itadakimasu” where so weird and different every time it took about 10-12 videos before it spelt it right and I understood what it was she was saying every time she went to eat! You don’t want to know how confused I was at the start, thinking “what is this lovely woman saying, she doesn’t look crazy but for this one line!?” I thought it was a competition where different viewers wrote in and got her to say different weird lines each time!?

When opening a MRE if you look at the middle of the top edge you will see a pointed peak on the seal, Pull there. You have more leverage and that peak aids in opening it. The edge doesn't do that.

Use just a little bit of water, the sugar packet, and the creamer packet mixed into the cocoa drink powder until it's a thick paste. Bingo! You have Ranger pudding. As someone who just got out of basic training, I seriously miss the MREs They taste SO good especially when every other day you’ve been feed dry chicken, old fish, and mushy unseasoned veggies We had a snow storm and couldn’t get regular food but we received MRE’s in the morning and lemme tell ya The breakfast MREs HIT 😋😂

I would so love to see a Babish and Emmy cook off or say a collaboration holiday meal, recorded Babish style with no heads showing , Emmy style with a history lesson and a fun ending, plus random burping.

Flameless ration heater tip: if you put the water in the heater, then put the ration against the heater rather than inside it within the sleeve, the heating is far more effective. Especially if you’re trying to heat two things at once (one on either side). They actually get hot rather than lukewarm in my experience.

My mom grew up in RI and she called it Goulash!! I grew up eating it as a kid, my grandpa would make it a lot! It's basically beef, pasta and tomatoes. I would add cheese on top, it's very yummy!!!

My grandpa, who was from Rhode Island, called what you are referring to as American goulash as American Chop Suey! I still make it for my kids! We all love it!

Dang! It's 2:23 a.m. over here in Germany and I was hoping, this time I might be the first to comment under one of Emmy's videos. Nope. Guess not 😢 And the person who gave this a tumbs down must not like MRE-Goulash

Thank you for the video! My hubby is excited to find this one the next time he goes to the field. He says to try the new hash brown MRE. Apparently they’re amazing 😋

The goulash looks a lot better than a lot of frozen dinners I’ve eaten. I’d probably eat it. Some mashed potatoes would be good with it. Or maybe I’d put it on the bread.

Army mom here....you do realise this is their food for the day!!! A little biased here, but that looks mighty small for our soldiers in a compromised situation be it war zone or training. I thank all of you below for your service. Emmy always love your videos! Could you do a video of your chickens?

Fantastic review Emmy! This menu replaced the old menu #22 Asian beef strips. That menu was pretty good too.
