I just learned the other day how exactly these flameless ration heaters work: the heater has magnesium, iron and salt in it, and when you add water, the chemicals start to create a massive amount of tiny short-circuits, which creates the heat. So basically you heat the food with electricity! So, if the heater doesn't seem to work, adding some salt might jump-start it.
@Bobombkaboom
@Bobombkaboom 5 жыл бұрын
Hot hands are the same thing minus the magnesium. They absorb oxygen to create the chemical reaction. Can also be used as oxygen absorbers for long term food storage in a pinch.

@@POTATOEH81 Basic grammar looks similar but there are extreme differences between Turkish and English such as there are so many suffixes in Turkish compared to English and we pretty much use suffixes to change tenses or they can even change the entire meaning, here are some examples: turkishteatime.com/turkish-grammar-guide/suffixes/ Because English doesn't have that many suffixes people usually have problems learning Turkish but it is a lot easier if they have similar grammar like Korean, Japanese etc. Google knows Turkish very well due we are using Google and KZbin etc a lot in Turkey so Google AI learned it well i guess :))

Mags from Maine I actually appreciate that, because caffeine affects me very seriously. I get horrible angina, tremors, and palpitations when I drink full-caffeine coffee (or any caffeinated beverage). Drinking decaf is surely annoying for you, but it certainly won’t kill you. But this way, people like me can enjoy some coffee without hours of extreme discomfort.
@feyfantome
@feyfantome 5 жыл бұрын
Overworked CNA the manufacturers should offer a choice of decaf or regular. Frankly, I don’t understand why anyone would even bother to drink coffee without the caffeine. It’s like drinking a non-alcoholic beer: you don’t really drink either for the flavors, there’s far better tasting beverage choices out there-you drink them for their desired effects
@overworkedcna412
@overworkedcna412 5 жыл бұрын
R B Yeah, a choice would definitely be nice, but decaf covers pretty much everyone without excluding anyone 👍 And coffee is delicious? I don’t drink it for the caffeine (obviously), I drink it solely for the flavor.

@Bryan It kinda depends though. Turkish cuisine varies a heck ton a lot, I had never seen such variety in cuisine outside of Turkey. Cuisine of Mediterranean coasts tend to be similar to other Mediterranean food but it's usually, more fish/vegetable oriented than like meat etc. Some foods that are so popular among other Mediterraneans like falafel tend to be non-existent. Mediterranean coasts usually pair food with Rakı, a traditional Turkish alcoholic beverage. The Black Sea region offers fish just like Mediterranean Region but while Mediterranean coasts usually serve the fish as pickled or semi-raw and combined with other seafoods like octopus, The Black Sea usually fries the fish. It also frequently features butter, tea and hazelnuts! Maybe it's because BSR is very forest-ey, cold and rainy. Cuisine of Southern/Southeastern Turkey is usually heavy on meat. It's usually very, very spicy. Don't eat SE Turkish food too much or else you will die because of a heart attack or sodium overload lol, but it's pretty delicious. Western Turkey is usually known for the royal food of the Ottoman Era! To be honest, the Turkish royal food is unlike anything I encountered, it's literally a world on its own. Eccentric food like slow cooked meat with honey and almonds or a desert made out of chicken breast can be seen in it. It sounds very... weird, I know but trust me it tastes great, lol. I guess SE Turkish food can be considered as close to Lebanese food but I think Lebanese cuisine and other Turkish cuisines are like from different worlds.

Love the ration segments, Emmy. I've got to get to Turkey to find some of those coffee filters for cups! Funny today I opened a dried soup mix and spilled half on the counter, also. Don't know how you find time to do all you do in a day. Thanks for the efforts, as ever. Entertaining!

After hurricane Maria, we were given boxes of these here in PR! I'm pretty sure they were US MREs. They were all pretty basic US meals and snacks. I loved the super big bags that had the breakfast, lunch and dinner! Now I know they are called 24hour MREs lol but I never once had an issue with the heaters. In fact they would burn me!

Miss Emmy, I would like to say your videos always help me to calm down if I'm having anxiety. You always brighten up everyone's day and are just a great KZbinr. I do have 2 Questions though. Q1. With all these taste test videos, what do with all the leftovers? Do you recycle them or use them for meals for your family? What do you do with them? Q2. Would you consider doing an MRE taste test livestream?

Hi Emmy, there is a liquid that you can apply as a coating to your nagging scratches, Medtech New Skin First Aid Antiseptic Liquid Bandage, 1 oz, on paper cuts I've used crazy glue, and I've used clear nail polish in emergencies on nagging scraps that kept getting caught on things, but this New Skin is specifically made for skin. Of course, we can always slice a piece of papaya real thin and let it dry then apply, but that's another herbal tale.

The tomato spread is called “Acuka” it is common to eat with a piece of bread and cheese. It contains herbs and is quite hot. Since then bread would’ve gone bas in a few days “lavaş/tortilla” is a good option. But i am not quite sure about the cheese tbh. They are sold like chips and you eat it like in front of the tv or netflix.

In Turkey, the sting cheese is soft, moist, cheesy and littlebit on the sour side. They keep the cheese in salty water at delicatessens. When you buy it, you wash it with spring water but you don't really have to if you are okay with salty taste. The shelf brought ones are less salty and dryish. Alot of the MMRs include instant coffe mixture,.. the cheap way. The one you got there looks like a grinded coffe. Probably has somekind of Turkish coffe blend into it. Last but not least, you cannot go wrong with hearty Turkish style buffet food. Simple and tasty as always.
