I asked my wife about Lakrisol. She hasn’t tried it. But when you said it was very salty she reminded me that Danes love the saltiest, nastiest and darkest licorice they can buy. She wasn’t surprised that you didn’t like, but she would definitely like it. There are a few high licorice brands and boutiques in Denmark.

Black licorice is also really popular in the Netherlands. way too much salt to be good to you.

yeah Saltlakrids are the worst tasting things on ther planet. My brother (who lives in Denmark but has a Danish wife) uses them as 'punishment candy' for his two daughters :)

The history of the yankie bar 🙂 Just after the second World War , Danish candy producer Toms were contacted by the United States high command in Germany, which commissioned Toms to produce a candy bar for the American troops in Germany to avoid transporting such products across the Atlantic. In return, the U.S. would supply Toms with the required amount of cocoa beans.

How cool to have a great friend to send you all that yummy stuff. I love licorice never had salted licorice but sounds yummy. Salt love salt probably cause I'm a smoker and my taste buds are dead 😋 Look at all the cool stuff Almost like a stoner box of goodies For some reason in Cali they will not deliver black licorice Scotty dogs. Tried to order them from See's or another catalog and they wouldn't deliver it. Ingredients maybe I don't know

Haribo is a Swedish candy. Dumle used to be Swedish, but Fazer in Finland now manufactures it. Turkish pepper was Danskt godis from the beginning but Fazer bought it up. Licorice is made by Cloetta in Sweden & is great to mix with vodka to make schnapps.

Lakrisal are salty licorice candies which do not contain any starch or gum arabic that most of this type of licorice candy has. Instead, it is made almost entirely of sugar, licorice, and ammonium chloride.

That's the actual skin on the pork rinds and the fat is puffed up...Most of the pork rinds in the states are just boiled fat...we call the ones with the skin on cracklins

I'm in UK every month I get the Snack Surprise Box on subscription it's organised in UK but every month the contents are from a different country hence the Surprise in the title 2 boxes back it was Danish, now I didn't get the plopp bar but what Ì did get was a small green box marked 'vingummen SPUNK' vingummen being wine gums and SPUNK apparently being the family name of the company owner, now....here's where the infamous different meanings rule comes into play a lot of Americans still use the adjective spunky to describe certain attributes in pre teens or teens but to us Britts it's a semi nasty euphemism, it's a slang word for SE#EN being careful here on a friendly channel

The Dumle is actually Swedish from the beginning but Fazer is Finnish so... :) Kinda ncie Scandinavian mix there. :) Haribo is German I think? An Plopp is from Cloetta in Sween, great stuff though! As is the lakrisal - Swedish.
