Good video...I was hoping you were going to demonstrate the torque using 12V. I suppose that would be hard to do unless you can get an adequate load. If you add a speed controller to the field winding or the armature windings, you can vary the speed of the motor.

When rotating the amature, the change in the resistance reading on the meter is NOT because the resistance of the amature is changing. That is remaining constant. The reason that the reading on the meter is changing is because rotating the amature against the residual magnetism in the field yoke is generating an emf voltage in the amature which is effecting the reading on the meter. This can be demonstrated by switching the meter to a voltage range and then rotating the amature. The current in the amature winiding reduces with speed not because of a change of resistance, but because the amature emf opposing the supply emf increases.

If you connect the field coils and the armature in SERIES, you'll draw less current and your battery will not drain so fast.

Good show except this error. When your rotated the amateur by hand, due to the stray magnetic field in the stater it produced some electricity which when applied to the multimeter either adds or subtracts to its internal circuitry and shows some reading. THE RESISTANCE OF THE ARMATURE NEVER CHANGES. Please correct your interpretation of that.

yes, but by the time you go through the song and dance of charging field wining at 24v and the amature at 36 or 48V...too much battery management...or just get a POWER CONVERTOR Just get a 48V brushless...It'll be more effiecient. Use Lithium LIPO or high discharge Lion ( way lighter than acid and recharge quicker) There's better things in life to do than manage charging batteries Slap it in a power wheels or min go kart from the kiddies (12-15 mph is more than plenty fast for them.... but if you didnt have the money.....do what you gotta do. It's also nice to have on a WORK TRUCK.electric WINCH or FLOOR JACK, or even a SAW, Wood chipper, Post hole diGger, PUMP..ect...if you had to cut trees a couple of hundred from you house..if you didnt want to go petro Run a cord from the work truck....charge extra batteries on your truck @ 12V while you drive it. reconfigure to 24v-48v..depending how much power you need.
