I was literally just thinking about this and your video popped up. I wish someone would just sell a replacement mirror with a useful light... Our other car has a super bright triangle that is unmissable. I've always thought this VW mirror is totally useless and there's no sound option either (even through VCDS). Thanks for sharing.

Great video, very thorough instructions. I have learned so much watching KZbin. Very helpful. I just upgraded my GTI 7.5 with dynamic LED light strips and black mirror caps. Interesting technique using suction cup to remove heated mirror glass. That was not easy for me and easy to crack glass if not careful. Thank you.

Why change the nice neat factory light to that Frankenstein cut and shut light? IMO the OEM light was much better.

OEM was so dim, that for the last 2-3 years that I own this vehicle, my wife was not aware that it's equipped with this system. As soon as I installed lights from VW Passat, she said that she needs this in her vehicle as well.

Hi, I have difficulties to activate this blind spot on my Golf 7 from 2015, it seems faulty, from what I read seems VW used the most shitty sensor they could find for blind spot, is there a way, to fix it on our own, without taking it to workshop? sensor is there but not activating.

Another way to do this would be to use the useless tiny window inside the car for the led to reside.

Posiadam elektryczne dogrzewanie w aucie one fabrczynie uruchamia sie ponieżej 5 stopni lub 0. Chciałbym tę wartość zmienić na większą aby już mi 8 stopniach się uruchamiało jest taka możliwosć ???

For Passat OEM is in mirror cover. Glass LED should’ve been red.

You would have to retrofit rear radars, add wiring, code it, and calibrate it.

So how does the car know there is a car approaching? What sensor does it use to tell the driver a car is approaching Does this have the same efficiency as using radars which send messages to the led to flash and notify the driver?
