@@jimmasters8204 Who may have lifted it from any number of Donovan songs, John Lennon's influence for the "Dear Prudence musically was the "Carter family picking" style used by Donovan in a good bit of his music, and who also taught it to Lennon. I think the take away here is that music is brought forward by newer artists. ELO states that the song "Classical Gas" was part of the influence for "Overture".....the title, by the way, is partially lifted from The Who's opening track on the album Tommy....... The musical circle of life until sampling became a thing......
