A small detail I love is that when the killer used the sleep fairy disguise/puppet thing, it said that they knew the kid’s name and that they haven’t been sleeping. Meaning that they had been stalking them for awhile which is just scary as hell to me.

Not just that, I think the stalker is also stalking other children. Sense the stalker said to the little boy that "I know all of the boys and girls around the world, including their parents." This could imply that the stalker has been stalking other children and/or maybe only said that to the boy to gain his trust.

There's something so sad about the fact that Caleb probably followed the Kipsneed because he thought he would get in trouble if he told his parents that he broke his camera. Feels way too real, too close to how little kids think and how predators take advantage of little kid logic

The name of the “fairy” seems like a pun on two things: kidnapper and baby monitor (Cipsneed > Kidsneed). Which means this was all engineered, it's was a predator watching Caleb all the time (as in most child murders/kidnappings, it is mostly people close to the family or stalkers who commit the crime)

While processing the photos, I was confused why there was no blood. I wondered if maybe there is some supernatural element to whatever happened to the boy, like he just clipped out of our dimension. Or maybe his blood was drained, and his body was cut into multiple pieces. I think the most unfortunate theory is that his feet were cut off, so he can't/couldn't run away from his captor.

I think one of the most chilling details about the Cipsneed is that his eyes are on the front of his face, not the sides. im pretty sure he wouldnt, though. the whole point of the scheme was to gain cailen's trust, because most kids actually won't just listen to randoms until they actually do form a sense of security and trust with the person. if he just snatched the kid right there, cailen would just scream and his parents would hear it and everyone else in the neighbourhood too. i think most kidnappers in real life does something similar to what kipsneed did here, maybe less dramatically, but basically luring kids away to their places. paedophiles do this as well when grooming children and inviting them to their houses.

This reminds me of the movie SMILE. The trauma demon disguises itself as everyday-looking people but makes sure that whoever it's targeting knows they're in the room and no one else can see what they are. The demon, when in human disguise, will tilt its head forward like it's preparing to lunge at you.

There’s a ton to unpack here. For one thing, the narrator makes this way scarier than it would be with simple dialogue. It sounds less like he’s telling a story, and more like he’s watching Caleb during this. The shift in the narrator’s voice at the end is incredible. He sounds like he’s on the verge of tears and creates even more of the horror in the film. Then there’s the Kipsneed(?). It looks enough like a sweet little puppet, but the fact that it’s eyes are in front of its head and the way the jaw opens is truly terrifying. I know from personal experience how terrifying anything looking at you from your window is, but this? I’d be dead on the spot. Finally, there’s the end. Only Caleb’s feet are left, but why? Is he alive? Is the rest of him in one piece? How were they cut off? There are so many unanswered questions, and that has to be the most horrifying thing about this film. Humans want the answers, and uncertainty leads to terror. Not only this, but the photos are less like parts of the story and more like evidence that whatever happened to Caleb was not simply a kidnapping. It makes this less like a kids show and more like a unsolved case, animated to piece together the clues about what happened to Caleb. This is easily one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen. Every part is perfection. 10/10!

Explanation: The kipsneed/ sleep fairy was a puppet that was used to lure Caleb into an abandond home, where the man (who I assume was stalking Caleb, as he knew his name and knew that he hadn't really been sleeping for the past few days). The stalker was probably either on the roof dangling it down or holding it up in front of the window. It's also possible that it was a costume, but since we see both it and the killer in pictures taken pretty close together, it's less likely. The man then kills Kaleb and dismembers him. They found only the legs

I saw clips of this on a review video about analogue horror. This reminded me of the scariest night of my life. One night when I was a kid, I had a weird dream I was in Venice and my hotel room were full of artwork and motifs of the Gorgon, Medusa. All of a sudden, I was woken up by a female voice shouting out for help. It was coming from the other side of the eastern wall of my room, and there was nothing on the other side, just the sheer vertical outside wall, and my bedroom was upstairs. There was no way anybody could've climbed up to that spot. I wanted to ignore it, so I turned on my TV, which was right next to my window. The problem with that was, this happened before flatscreens existed, it was a cathode ray tube TV, and it made a loud noise when I turned it on. Whoever or whatever was shouting for help heard it and came to my window and started knocking. It was a good thing my roller blind was down. Part of me wanted to open it to see who or what was there, but I was far too scared to. So I put a video on, went back to bed and played Pokémon on my game boy until the voice went silent and I drifted off to sleep. When I woke up, I noticed my TV was still on, and I remembered it was off when I went to bed, then I remembered what happened. This video made me glad that I didn't open the roller blind that night.

"Hello there, young lad!" greeted the creature, "I'm the Kipsneed! I'm your sleep fair-" It never got to finish as Caleb promptly smashed his fist into the creature's smiling yellow maw and shattered every bone. Still reeling from the impact, the creature staggered backwards, right off the roof it had been standing on. It crashed into the rough gravel driveway below with a thunderous thud. Nothing but silence followed. Having stopped screaming but with his chest still heaving, a trembling Caleb peeked down out from the rustling curtains of his open bedroom window down at the fairy's body lying limp below. A crimson pool of blood circled outwards from its oblong skull and soaked into his mother's prized begonias. In the waxy spotlight of the moon, Caleb was finally able to see the jagged outline of a knife and a thick roll of duct tape that the creature had tucked into both its colorful felt wings. On seeing it absolutely still, Caleb returned to his bed and settled in for a long and satisfied sleep. He didn't need a camera to preserve this particular image.

Haven't seen it commented yet but 2:43 really messed with me. When the kipsneed first arrives he remains fully outside the window but as he talks to Cailen he gets more comfortable and begins gesturing and reaching inside the window. But at this particular moment it feels like a boundary really got violated and the largeness of his "hand" also becomes evident. Not only that, but it implies that the Kipsneed/man might’ve opened the window themselves, which is so creepy and feels like such an invasion of privacy and safety. It makes me wonder if maybe there were some actual supernatural elements in here, and that maybe the boy was actually drawn into some sort of portal, save his feet. The feet look way too unbloodied to be the remains of a mutilation. No scars, no bruises, just totally unharmed feet.

The sleep fairy thing actually being a human makes a lot of sense actually. The Kipsnea or whatever it's called kind of resembled a puppet, so it makes sense that a kidnapper might use something bright and cheery like that to lure children. And then, when he's leading the boy to his house, it also makes sense to only use his voice so the boy can't see who he really is.
@burnttoast3925
@burnttoast3925 Жыл бұрын
The subtle changes when caleb approaches the house are incredible. The narrator sounds different, more sad, and the distant shots now look like they're being taken by someone stalking the child, based on the trees around the frame, and the kids channel logo disappears. Its all so subtle and so well done.

This is done in the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING YET TERRIFYING analog horror series by UrbanSpook. The killer is a mentally ill painter, who kills his victims in horrible ways. Usually the bodies are not found, but the painter leaves behind paintings showcasing how the victims died with awful titles, in a case in the first episode, only the top of one kid and the bottom of another where found sewn together, yet the paintings are the ones that give us the horrific details of how the died

This is genuinely one of my favourite short horror films on youtube. I love the way it starts off cutesy and innocent, the only real notion that something is off is the second picture being of a real dog, which most people don't even notice on their first watch. When you first see the 'fairy', you don't realise how creepy the actual words it's saying are at first, even it's name is creepy (Sounds similar to the word Kidnap). The way the narrator's voice changes at the end to be more serious, like it's at the end of a murder documentary or trial seriously creeped me out and the reality of the situation shifting into focus with the realistic looking pictures was the last straw. Genius idea by using a parent's worst nightmare and very memorable with the clay-like animation style. I've watched it several times and I can't wait for what you'll make next.

My favorite part about this is definitely the sleep creature because there’s so much depth and mystery behind it. Since it’s initially in the style of a kids show the creature could very well be either a “kids tv” display of an abductor, or the child’s confused representation of what an abductor is, this strange thing luring him outside his window. And while this does feel very cold and real, with no clear explanation I can’t help but wonder if it really was a creature or demon leading him to doom. This does so much with so little and it goes without saying it takes a lot of talent to effectively pull that off.
