MLB The Show 17 Franchise Ep.2 - More Late Inning Drama!

I see a lot of people talking about the slow pace of the series so far. That's by design. It's the same thing I did in the Kalispell Dynasty where we had 3 videos before the first real game. I like laying the foundation and introducing various players. Yes, the beginning is slow, because I want to set things up. Once we get into the swing of things, I assume within the next few episodes, we'll be skipping much more time and focusing less on each individual game. If this team isn't going to be in the playoff hunt, expect the second half of the year to go by very quickly.

One more thing, the schedule also has us at a slower pace, because all we do is play division foes at the beginning. Those are all teams important to spend time with, because they're our competition, and the Twins were worse than all of them last year.

Why is everyone complaining about the pace. Its great. If it takes 32 episodes, that's fine. I think most people would agree with me that it's boring to simulation. The game is still new and I want to see gameplay like u have been providing. Canes football franchise has long seasons and no one is complaining about that. Guys, he is just trying to get us familiar with these players and opponents. Im sure he'll speed it up once we get a good feeling about the team and their direction. I personally love all these games and video lengths, but understand other people enjoy the rebuild aspect of an offseason so they like the speed of gameplay. Overall love this direction cane!

Hey Hurriicane. One suggestion when youre running through this franchise. I would say as you run through each series try to make some notes on how some of the hitters are doijng in the series. Like last series with the Tigers you could say like " Up next is Byron Buxton, hes 4-12 in this series with 3 doubles and just 1 single." Something like that. Or even try to remember when certain relievers come in and say something like Sano has a hard time hitting this guy. Hes batting only .180 against him this year. Or even the Twins have struggled against power righties this year. I dunno Baseball is more about stats and how each manager plays those stats to his advantage. Id like to see you do more of that.

Yeah. Assuming they don't make the playoffs, its 162 games. If it continues at this pace of 10 games per 2 episodes, thats about 32 episodes. The first 2 took about 4 days, so the first season should be finished in 128 days which is about 18 weeks. That means the first season probably won't even be finished until September.

MrHurriicane I am also doing a twins franchise and I'm a month in and buxton is leading leadoff and is hitting above .400 so I would put him at leadoff, also because he has 95 speed so he would be good for stealing. also you Paulsen. hes hitting .370 and I have 15 homeruns with him in only a month and a half.

Cane, pitch your starter to quality starts. meaning at minimum 5 innings pitched. if they put two o,n yank them. have a dedicated pitching lineup for 7/8/9 inning. for the potential save situations. the challenge will be rotating mid and long relievers to get you to those three back end pitchers. either way, buxton is hitting too well for leadoff. dozier should either be 2nd or 5th

Anders Kjeldsen Mauer was a catcher, but he became to old and slow to play it. hes also way to slow to play ss, but he might be able to play third

Anders Kjeldsen well its not a waste. mauer is old and doesnt have the speed to play any other position, thats the reason they moved him to first base, because he couldnt play catcher anymore. eventually he will become too old and slow to even play in the field, so he will become a DH. putting him at 3rd or short would be a liability to the teams defense

Yeah maybe for most teams, but not for the Twins. He still has more speed then Sano at 3B, plus way better fielding rating and a much stronger arm. And Polanco at SS only has 10 more speed then Mauer, but way worse fielding and arm strength. In this case he wouldnt be a liability, but an upgrade to what the have now.

I think you should start to simulate more games becouse it would take ages to get anywhere with this series. Maybe play some critical situacions, full game highlights here and there maybe. Plus you are hurting the franchise mode by playing full games becouse you cant really see what you are doing right or wrong with the actual franchise. The way it is right now will this series become too repetitive

I have to say that I dislike you simulating games. It seems anytime you simulate you don't do all that well and although that makes sense, it's still annoying as at least you can't just say "oh 50 of our losses were the CPU" if you are playing. I say play all the games and show us highlights of the exciting/important/story building ones while show us the stats and tell us a brief summary of others. Think that would be a better idea.

It'd take him as long as a Madden season if he did that. And editing wouldn't be much different then he's doing now. All he'd have to do was mark the ones he wanted to show and mark the ones he didn't. 9 innings of baseball in mlb takes on average for me about 30-45 mins, and even shorter if it's a low scoring game, which is quicker than a full game in madden. Sure he'd have to play 162 games, buy you can get through a lot of games in a few hours if you out the time into it.
