Thank you for making these videos. Can you please clarify if EVERY brachycephalic dog has canine chiari malformation and syringomyelia and if they’re suffering even though they aren’t showing external symptoms of pain? Thanks.

Thank you for your question. Not all brachycephalic dogs have Chiari (depends on there skull shape for example would be unusual in a English bulldog or Japanese Chin DESPITE their extreme flat faced conformation). Not all dogs (or humans) with Chiari or syringomyelia have clinical sign - I think that my video on clinical signs would help to answer this question.

I just found this channel. Thank you so much for your content! I have an 8-year-old 4 lb Yorkie with chiari like malformation and syringomyelia. I've always wondered if it's okay for him to fly in an airplane with me??. He was diagnosed at 3 years old. And has been on omeprazole and gabapentin regularly

the general advice is that it is okay for animals and people with Chiari malformation to fly.
