The first dish served was a lentil and vegetable salad., known as Kosambari. “Hesarubele” is not Urad dal, but split moong dal ( cherupayar parippu). The speciality of the roti is that it is made up of Jowar flour.

This food is north karnataka cuisine, their food consists of large number of dry items, with roti made of jowar The reason for dry items is because north karnataka is traditionally a rain deficient area There is another popular restaurant called JOLADA ROTI, you should try that If possible visit HALLI MANE and HALLI THINDI restaurants for traditional karnataka snacks

ഞാൻ കർണാടകയിൽ ജനിച്ചു വളർന്ന ആളാണ്. ആ ചിത്രം ബസവേശ്വര എന്ന സമൂഹ പരിഷ്കർത്താവിന്റേതാണ്. നമ്മുടെ നാരായണ ഗുരുദേവനെപ്പോലെയാണ്. വീരശൈവ മത അനുയായായികൾ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. പിന്നെ കന്നടക്കരുടെ ഈ സദ്യ എനിക്ക് വളരെ ഇഷ്ടമാണ്

Karnataka sambhar is the authentic sambhar Sambhar has a maharashtrian origin and I have experienced that Karnataka' sambhar is the best and most authentic . Also the person seen is the legendary Basaveshwara( pardon my spelling) He is one of the greatest philosophers and poets in India. He was also a prominent Indian statemen during his time Arguably one of the greatest people in Indian History.

Hi Sir next time when you try this North Karnataka food you should try to tasting the Jowar roti with Chutney powder they served and curd that is one of the combination, bite the raw veggies in between. And the brinjal curry is a special curry it is called "Enngaayi" means brinjal fried in an oil based curry. That recipe has special ingredient that is powdered and added it is Niger seeds, that is black thin pieces like jeera. Another that yellow square piece that they served initially is called "Junka vadi", steamed besan vada recipe. These are some authentic recipes in the meals you had :)
You should try Beeghara ootta at HSR layout. kadichu parikkan items undu.

The making of Jowar Rotti (jollad roti) is not as easy as making Chappathi or Patthiri. Clue - you can hear clapping sound in the background around 06:30.. Also you can use four of the items in the leaf to make a healthy roll.
