കാളാഞ്ചി എന്ന മീനിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ പേരു ബാറാമുണ്ടി എന്നാണു. ഇത്‌ ഓസ്ട്രേലിയൻ ഒറിജിൻ ആണു. ബറാമുണ്ടി എന്ന വാക്ക്‌ അബോർഗിനൽ വാക്കാണു. ഇതിനെ ഏഷ്യൻ സീബാസ്‌ എന്നും വിളിക്കും. സാൾട്ട്‌ വാട്ടറിലും നോർമ്മൽ വാട്ടറിലും ഉണ്ടാകും. ഇതിന്റെ ഫിഷ്‌ മവ്‌ ( fish maw ) ഇനു കിലോക്ക്‌ 5000 രൂപ മുതൽ 10,000 രൂപ വരെ ലഭിക്കും.

Oldest scripture about barramundi was found in caves of aboriginal people residing in Australia. They call it Barramundi. It’s called Asian SEABASS and in Indonesia it’s called White snapper or Kakap Putih. I have seen people exporting to Bengal from our region in indonesia. I don’t what it’s called.
