Having built these for Germany, Airbus: A tensioner is critical, even if just some friction on the wire spool. However a tensioner consisting of the wire passing through a open cell foam pad is much better. Not only the tension is added, but also straightens and smoths out the wire, removes oscillation in the wire prior to winds added to bobbin. A piece of foam folded over, wire running through it, pressure on the foam. If the wire mover is further from the bobbin, the wire will correctly lay by itself surprisingly well, must have tensoner adjusted. I made a bobbin winder for about 200 euros, that blew away the German 40,000 euro winder

This fancy design means nothing if you do not show the end result and quality of winding. Which i am sure the machine fails to deliver thats y u have not shown it in video.
@patprop744 жыл бұрын
Well Duh hahahaha we can all imagine how it ended up, the spool was not properly supported and there was no means of adding tension to the wire as it was being spooled, Try filling a fishing rod reel without someone pinching the spool as its being filled lol the Same thing will happen lol But to be fair, his little design is a good start, now it just needs some tweaking and at least there was no hot glue used for a change.

You didn't show us a final product the wound bobbin. Excellent miniature of the machine I use to make transformers with. I use to sit inside a winding machine and make coils as small as you just wound up to as big as 20L paint drum. And I had to manually switch it from side to side as the wire layered, then watch the counter so that I knew when to switch off the motor at right number of turns. Your circuitry is beautifully designed to do it all at once by setting it up with a turn of a dial. Nice job

Great and clever build! Did you have the wire diameter as a constant in the code; didn't see you enter it. This would be necessary for the carriage to know what distance to travel per turn. Is the two color disk read by opto sensor to count revolutions? I would think the code would have a counter that would tell it when done.
@UReasonIt4 жыл бұрын
Wow. You did cut that one a bit short at the end.
@EsotericArctos4 жыл бұрын
What are the end results like? Are the windings nicely tensioned and even? I could see this saving hours of time if the windings are nice at the end. A few little tweaks to give consistent tension on the wire and this could be a great device. Just as a note. Music was too loud when you were doing your promotional talk. Couldn't hear it properly.

Looks nice. I only would have used a stepper as the winding motor as well. Slower, but precise enough to wind cob-web coils and the such, too. And for teaching, slow motion is a nice addition.

Нужно указывать начало намотки (слева или справа), направление намотки (по часовой стрелке или против), шаг сдвига направляющей и скорость вращения шпинделя. Удачи! 👍 It is necessary to indicate the start of winding (left or right), the direction of winding (clockwise or counterclockwise), the pitch of the guide and the spindle speed. Good luck!

Just wondering the term DIY is changing its meaning to something closer to "Have all this tools and manufacturing gadgets"
@alvarodiaz22214 жыл бұрын
Because if you are a DIY enthusiast you tend to gather those tools with time. If you lack most of these tools then this project is out of your reach, go find some entry level stuff. I have no idea why you are even complaining since this project IS actually entry level. You can sand and cut wood with manual tools, it just takes longer, you can order 3d printed parts if you have no printer or use more wood. Isn't DIY about being resourceful and make with what you have?
