As a fellow classic car owner, I would advise you to fuel the car with a fuel with lower ethanol content. E10 contains 10% ethanol which eats its way through fuel hoses and corrodes aluminium (especially in carburetors). Resulting in poor engine performance and potentially fires. Fuel up with E5 98 octane, or more preferably E0 if you can get hold of that. You even get more bang for your buck with the engine in the 355 :)

Interesting fact, you can modify the engine configuration for the 355 Challenge, and combined with direct exhaust you can get around 500hp in this car without problems and with original Ferrari parts! Great content!
@KingReza2 жыл бұрын
355 Challenge had nothing different from normal 355 engine. Also not possible get 500hp out of this engine, and why care of HP when the car is perfect as-is. The only thing this cars need is OEM carbon seats + FHP upgrades. Also 355 Challenge had different damper ECU, its the same for Fiorano Handling Package FHP cars for road. So best to change to Tubi Style manifolds, cats + exhaust + bypass valve from Capristo + remote from Capristo. And try buy any FHP parts as challenge springs will be too hard for normal roads.

About 420hp from a 355 without major mods .... As in you've bought the wrong car if 500 is your goal
@nin972 жыл бұрын
@@quackyduck1499 Pretty much yes. That's with essentially every bolt on and experimental mod and possibly even standalone ECU with custom tuning. You cannot be this illiterate about cars, the 355 can be upgraded with ferrari parts just by changing the layout a little bit, getting over 500hp at the crank easily. Learn a bit before talking nonsense.
@Rx37Legacy2 жыл бұрын
@@MrSmith804 None of that relates to what i said... Read it again. BECAUSE the 355 has "only" 375 bhp one can use it much easier than a 800bhp car, like James has stated many times in his videos. Taking it up to 500 takes away a lot of that ability, which is what makes it fun. Might aswell just buy any run of the mill sportscar from 2022 instead....

@Rx37Legacy: I'm completely agreeing with you. I have my mx5 on upgraded suspension (adjustable) but the standard size 185 tyres (better rubber) on standard rims. You daredevil you - taking the F355 on continental roadtrip the day after you pick it up! A/C is fairly meek in these to begin with but the blower fans shouldn't resemble a hurricane, suspect your bearings are failing but just for grins cycle through your vent control, recirc, and stop buttons as you may have something interfering - the interior foam insulation does breakdown with age and can blast out of the vents. Not sure about fuel options in Europe these days but I find the car runs much better without ethanol if you can find it even with a slight sacrifice in octane level. Have fun!
