The room makeover reveal we’ve all been waiting for! And the emotional surprise reveal that makes it all worth it! This giant, open concept, living room/dining room/playroom/entry way needed so much design and we worked HARD to get it done. The whole floorplan and layout needed to be re-thought so it could be more functional for this family of three. The design style needed to be a compromise of what the husband (Kyle) likes, Wabi Sabi and wood slat walls and the wife (Cina) loves which is TikTok trendy curves in a post modern style with creamy white tone on tone and pastel cutesy accents! These walls are double the size of normal walls so we did 10+ DIYs to implement design and function. A wood tambour aka pole wrap wall, a curvy cloud shaped DIY coffee table made out of buckets, arched curtain cornice boxes, wood slat wall with cube shelves, DIY artwork for a gallery wall, Facebook Marketplace finds, upcycled thrift store mirror, salvage yard finds, a huge bouquet of faux cherry blossoms and found sticks AND peel and stick wallpaper all over in our brand new watercolor checkerboard pattern!!! We are so happy with how it turned out but most importantly these new parents are SO thrilled with their new family living space. Without makeup she looks like any regular 40 yo woman, she does have some fine lines but of course she doesn’t have serious wrinkles yet, she’s only 40, not 65. In a video of course she is wearing makeup and doesn’t film her pores up close. I like Kate cause she’s real when it comes to her body but you make her sound like a non-real person somehow, although I think you meant it as a compliment. 40 is not “that old”, I’m a few years older than Kate and I don’t have wrinkles either, if you want actual advice, don’t cake makeup on daily, it’s the sure way for your skin to look aged. Massaging your face and neck doesn’t hurt either.

Tretinoin is the best anti-aging treatment you can use. I’ve been using it (it’s prescription only, but you can get it on line through Curology or Agency) for over 5 years (I am 59) & I quit aging when I started using it. Most people think I’m in my early-mid 40’s. I have gotten all 3 of my daughter-in-law’s to start using it and it’s something none of us will ever be without in our skin care routine! I also use salicylic acid every day, vitamin C & sunscreen! I never leave the house without sunscreen! 😊

Cina's happy dance excited zoomy reaction is I think the funnest one I've ever seen anyone have when you reveal your magic. And it's completely understandable - you totally nailed this room. This is really pretty 😍 definitely leaned heavily to the wife style and not much of the husbands… feel like the design could of definitely could of been more grown up. The design is very teen- early 20s. Super cute and fun design just doesn’t seem like both styles were incorporated evenly. Just making the arch shelves black and the floating shelf above a matching wood tone would have tastefully matured the space.

I fully agree! The space is gorgeous but a little juvenile for what they were asking for. I think the color of the cabinets being different/ more neutral and keeping the checker wall paper only in the entry would’ve definitely matured the space. Plus, anything cane that doesn’t look vintage or have an interesting design (I.e. the dining chairs) just looks like it’s straight from ikea. Kate is a genius when it comes to merging styles but I feel those small things fell short.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! They were soooo happy with their "new" home 💖 This design matches their personalities and of course, if they want anything changed, it can be done easily. They are friends 😊 That table looks awesome. It can be produced in many colors and textures. I saw another comment on putting the same material as the one by the TV, on the table legs, and I liked that concept. I think you could even put the wallpaper!!! Incorporating this table on you furniture line, should give options for combo variations for the top and legs, just saying!

Cool makeover! Love the wallpaper and the room divider. Changing out the dining chairs was a good move. They look so much better. My only issue is with the shelf. It seems too thin. A floating shelf (as in the dad’s inspo pics) in the same wood as the dining table would’ve looked better but I guess the budget did not allow for it?

Great job on the house! That was a challenge, but you successfully pulled it off. The DIY coffee table is impressive. My only critique is the black shelf brackets. 😖I find my eye is more drawn to them than the stuff on the shelf. A subtle cream or even clear would help them not be so jarring and cause the items on the shelf to pop, which I think was the point of having the shelf to being with.
