They put cheap paint on cabinets as evidenced by the easily gouged paint in the inside of cabinet. This kitchen is for pictures only! Back splash cannot be washed with chalk paint. Wait till young lady is cooking tomato sauce and she is stirring sauce and tiny bits slash.there is a reason real tile with glaze is used. There is a reason people seal grouting in kitchens. The hosts created a cheap kitchen nightmare.

I took off all my cabinet doors, drilled holes for new knobs, painted everything, soaked the hinges, peeled off the paint layers, sanded them, painted them, and put it all back together in two days. It's like I have a new kitchen

With all the lovely work these two did....I ALSO LOVED THE CLOCK! Not only did they save an older clock...he got it working again and put it on the wall of the kitchen...awww so sweet! My daughter and her hubby did this type of two tone in their kitchen and used the same handles...her cabinets are white and light grey. She also mixed country style stuff which I found some items for her and she did alot with white pottery that has words on it also. She used an old window frame and made it into a chalk board for her kitchen for meal planning.

She has great style. It does prove that you can do things to improve without a lot of money involved. It helps to have a handy guy around to help with the more technical stuff though if you don't know exactly how to do it. Great duo here. I am lucky to have my husband who can do the more involved things that it takes and I have the style to make it all come together....we do projects like this in our renovations all the time. It does make me happy to find those diamonds in the rough....and it gives me satisfaction to give them make overs....and watch people react to it just like these ladies do.

Scarlet Rodriguez - a garage was the first thing that also came to me after I got to the "tell us what you want to see next" part of the video. There's gotta be a real garage guy (OR GIRL!) out there who would love to have their space organized and with some cool decor (think a Chevy guy with Chevy bowties painted on the floor, or a motorcycle chick who wants photos of the places she wants to ride all over the place. Maybe even someone who loves chrome and wants as much of it as possible in their space!) I think this would be a really good one. So much fun for Joey to do, and a real challenge for Mr. Kate to design it!

May i recommend a shared room on a budget? My mom and I share a room with twin beds and I’ve been wanting to do something different and i need some Creative Weirdo Inspiration!! Also the beds come with their own drawers under so I don’t want to put them together cuz it limits our storage space.

Shared rooms, especially adult shared rooms, are a design dilemma that hardly ever gets addressed, except as a dorm room situation. But with an extended family adult shared room there may be a huge age gap within the room share, which ups the ante as far as pleasing the clients goes. It also makes it double hard to keep cohesion within the room as a design focus. This is a real mind bending, head scratching, concern for those living in an extended family situation since money, or lack of, is usually paramount. So yeah, this is almost like a dorm room share, but with a twist. Which makes it even more challenging. Are you up for it Mr. Kate? I'm throwing down the gauntlet. Show us what ya got.

I've wanted to set up a room for grandkids or guests to have their own storage spaces as they're staying here. I'm surprised by an earlier comment that the woman thinks it would limit storage(?) I would think it would be expanded. My Mom and I have added underbed storage containers.

I agree! the lighting is always soooooo bad and its always a yellow light not a bright white one. I can't even imagine the change because what I do imagine is not what you do! Please do an apartment bathroom! :)
