How gorgeous is this song. R.I.P. ALAN WHITE, 50 YEARS WITH YES…..WHAT A LEGACY!!!

I remember when it came out, all the guys did a solo record as did Alan here. My Brother Dane was a huge Alan White fan, perhaps slightly more than Bill Bruford by a fraction. He was a drummer and he saved every dollar he could in 1976 to buy a full set of North Drums, although he added another floor tom a year later. to see this is an omage to my late brothers' lover for drums and YES

Thanks for the precious rare video of this beautiful song which has been with me since it was out. It's really a pity that a lot of great songs just go unknown and unappreciated by the general listeners. Very few people would bother to pay attention to tracks on a solo album by a drummer. I still keep the original LP in perfect shape on my record shelves in a far-away island country named Taiwan.

My thoughts exactly. Besides, some artist write hits to make the radio and therefore bring home the bacon. But their "deep tracks" can outshine the hit singles by a longshot. We miss you Alan and are so grateful for the years we had you;

I bought this in 1975, and although I am an Alan White fan, this was the only song on Ramshackled I regularly played! I miss those mid 1970's 3 YES RELAYER era tours with Patrick Moraz ( December '74, 75, 1976 stadium tour...) 41 years ago!

Best Yes' tour in their history. Relayer was definetely the album they played at their best
@billvoigt26086 жыл бұрын
I agree completely! I really miss those years of incredible creativity from YES. I'll step back one tour earlier/album earlier to include the Tales era. Sadly I was too young to experience the Relayer era tours. In 1974 I was only 12 years old. I remember buying the 45 r.p.m. of Your Move/ I've Seen All Good People when it was released. I was 9 years old I believe and didn't have a clue! I just thought it was such a nice song and begged my mom to buy it for me. I thought the singing was done by a female actually. LOL. I felt the same way about the song Black Dog by Led Zeppelin. Got that 45 r.p.m. around the same time and though it was a girl singing. I was young, forgive me. So YES music was in my blood but it wasn't until 1976 that my passion for YES and prog music exploded. I was 14 and still was barred from going to the YES '76 tour here in Chicago with Peter Frampton. I can't fault my folks as they did at least allow me to buy the records, but had a strict rule of, age "16" to see rock concerts. I sure missed so many great shows. But this era of YES with Moraz was indeed one of my favorites.

I had all the solo albums, but I only had Ramshacked on 8 track used. I didn't like much of the songs except this one. But my friend who was into Metal thought this was the best of the solo albums.
