When you talked about adoption it’s so weird because I felt the exact same way. Seriously and I thought it sounded crazy as well but I completely felt in my gut when I myself was a child that I needed to adopt. I would play house with friends and always talk about my adopted kids and stuff. Then I find this out when I’m 17 that I can’t have kids and I have MRKH. Totally on your wave length.

I'm hoping thing will get to their places for you when time comes. My case differs. We have been TTC for long years. 2 confirmed miscarriages in that time. Although I strongly suspect there may have been 1 or 2 more failed early pregnancies. My body has gone from being well regulated to all over the place since we started TTC. I am a hormonal rollercoaster many months. We spent so much money on ovulation predictor kits and pregnancy kits.. -all in vain.. I know everyone in this boat tries her best to let go and let be, but this can just be hell some days..Also I came here for my friend who has MRKH, type 2. They're seriously leaning on surrogacy abroad. God knows what happens next..

I really feel for you. The way I see it, it's a pretty shocking thing to learn.. Ladies don't choose to get MRKH, some say they are just really unlucky..Nobody can judge you because of that, as it's out of the control!! I do get that we all have different morals and beliefs, for some people biological children is a must. You also can definitely have a normal sex life with MRKH, there is a lot of things to do besides penetration. If time comes and you finally decide to have kids, it's possible to turn to IVF or surrogacy..which are the options too. English is also not my first language, so I'm sorry if any of this came out the wrong way.

In the most of cases the ovaries are perfectly normal. Their anatomy and function working with normality, so it makes possible to have biologically related kids, even though a woman often cannot carry the pregnancy to term. Contrary to popular belief, MRKH infertility does not affect the proper development of sex characteristics in women. In other words, having for example no uterus doesn't make less of a woman. - They produce female sex hormones when they reach puberty. Monthly ovulation occurs. They become adults in the same way as women without the syndrome.. The only difference is that they'll need med help in future in order to have kids. Surrogacy is definitely among the known and widely known methods.

It takes some serious guts to write your story online! You’re clearly such a brave and strong person., lady! You should be proud of yourself! It is always helpful to have those who are going through the same thing as you emotionally.I have a friend, age 38 (dx @18) who is getting along quite well for the most part. She has started having some health related issues like Urethral cysts and a new dx of Advanced Arthritis. Years ago there was a survey that appeared on MRKH..Like 82 or 75% had skeletal abnormalities and things like that. I'd like to refresh my understanding and know what things might lay in store. And all the other things which would help me to support my friend. She's seriously counting on surrogacy, which is a double pressure I suppose..

I believe this video is really helpful to understand MRKH syndrome, answer your concerns, and help you support the one having MRKH the best. It turns out to be a very tricky condition. Because the outward genitals appear normal, the condition is often not diagnosed until puberty. I know somebody who hasn't had such a ''joyous'' experience with MRKH. She's 36 and watching all the other friends and family members carry children and then give birth to them. It is a constant reminder that the world chose differently for her..she says. With no explanation given. She's closed her fb account because she told she's got so incredibly jealous that these people all around pop out kids left and right and she can't even have that experience just one time.. I'm sorry to hear your friend is facing it. Still this is so incredibly great of her to seek help through surrogacy (as I believe this turned out to be the only possible way in her very case, right?) Tell my best wishes o her.

Soory for your friend..Just like for everyone facing this. You've told she's considering surrogacy. May I ask, has she already decided where to go? I've heard people go to Eastern Europe for more affordable prices and surrogacy friendly laws..Can you share, please, if it's ok? Hope your friend's doing well.

On the one hand I'm sorry you've been facing this issue. On the other hand I'm so proud of you that you found strength to share your very personal story with us, so that all the MRKH sisters could feel they aren't alone. I'm currently looking for ways on how to support the best friend of mine who've been in this very boat since 18 yrs old. Her dh and she want to have kids. But they are not ready to adopt, so are more likely to turn to surrogacy (Their new dr says she still produces good healthy eggs). My heart goes for everyone facing MRKH, may god bless all of you with a LO one day!!

MRKH is a congenital disorder of the female reproductive system that affects approximately 1 out of every 5000. Not everyone knows that girls diagnosed with MRKH havevaginal agenesis, which refers to an absent or incomplete vagina. The uterus is very small or absent and the cervix is also missing. It’s important to understand that young women with this syndrome are just like others. I mean they have normal ovaries and experience puberty without having periods. MRKH is a syndrome that may or may not be associated with renal (missing one kidney), skeletal, and hearing problems..Though those definitely affect the women's lives..I believe your friend has made a great decision turning to surrogacy. There are lots of options nowadays and still some perfect destinations. It's known that Ukraine has become very popular. And it's understandable why. Many couples spend years and tens of thousands of $$$ trying to adopt. And this is often just luck of the draw. If your friend uses a surrogate who has a successful track recors of producing live births and use embryos from proven egg/sperm providers this can give her a 60% or better chance of having a baby within the next 15 months. Rough statistics but it does make sense! I'm for surrogacy too. For the intended parents who cannot produce their own embryos and/or carry their own babies to term, surrogacy can be faster and better option to get a baby than adoption.

I believe surrogacy might be the best option in the most of cases. I'm not new to infertility myslef. Though MRKH is not my case. I'm just glad ladies are brave and strong enough to fight for their happiness. Just like your friend who's chosen to pass surrogacy. May I ask, what country did they choose? Surrogacy is banned in many parts of the world, so I guess this decision has been not easy..TIA

Nope, no surgery! It's not that I don't want to, I just haven't really thought about it, I'm just starting to accept it, and may think about it more in the future ☺️ xo

+Biri Abbott Can you have sex? Cause some can, as their "opening" is long enough... I think surgery is really, really scary, so I don't want to do it...

+Luisa Wittig I can, it takes a while to be comfortable, but I think surgery will always look scary. But it's whether it's worth the fear in the long run. As it stands, I don't feel like I need surgery, but everyone's situations are different.
