“Boil noodles at night”’s dev (Arydk) is from Indonesia, and looking at the house in the game, it made me realize how cool it is that thanks to developers from all around the world we get to see and walk around house interiors from all around the world.😊 (Even if it’s not always perfectly faithful to reality😁)

I was just about to say it was an amazing concept and well executed and that I thought you were onto something that was bound to blow up... then I saw Markiplier did a video on it a day ago and it has 1 million views. Hope you're enjoying the success whirlwind!

Man, thank you! I'm surprised that no one else mentioned the absolutely abhorrent, god awful sounds that protagonists make when eating. Makes we want to toss the laptop out the window

I think the voices from the monster at the end of the third game are supposed to be moaning in pain but it kind of sounds like they're booing (not in a ghost way) and heckling the player character which is pretty funny. "you didn't escape? aw you suck."

The first game is so fucking realistic, especially as someone who enjoys those exact same instant noodles with a fried egg late at night. The noodles aren’t an original asset but a blurred image of Indomie Mi Goreng noodles, a beloved brand common in Asian households lol The creepy stalker/home invaders, convenience store, and noodle cannibalism parts? Not so relatable

Lil sidenote I actually read another book by aron beauregard called the slob and it was soooo bad. I wanted to read playground but after reading the slob it put me off this author’s books. Hearing you describe this scene just confirmed it for me. I am a HUGE horror fan but I think horror, unless of the supernatural kind, should make sense and be scary. Just listing the weirdest, most effed up things is not scary to me and is actually quite boring to me :/
@vaporeon1606

Yeah please DON‘T read the slob unless you enjoy homophobia and SA depictions as a form of „horror“

I tore my rotator cuff in June. It's just now getting almost back to normal. I had a steroid injection, which gave immediate and lasting relief. I fully recommend it. That and physical therapy. I hope you heal up nice and fast! Thanks for all the gaming vids!

As a person who tore her rotator cuff 6 years ago, and the doctors told her that it will heal on its own without surgery and just take a few steroid shots, just letting you know, it'll never fully heal. :')

Doctors are as safe and reliable as they were in the 1820s. Edit: I meant to say dangerous and unreliable. Very little has changed in the last 150 years as far as medical is concerned. Doctor's favorite hobby is to get in the way of healing. They're glorified pharmacists, only looking to treat symptoms rather than causes.

An author that Gab actually recommended for Horror (seems a lot more mind bending as opposed to gore) is T. Kingfisher! I have started The Hollow Places and it’s interesting so far. I think The Twisted Ones is one of her popular ones. Thanks for the short horror games vid, as usual~

If you're in the mood for short stories Never Whistle at Night and Out There Screaming were very good anthologies. Some squishy gross horror but thriller also. If you're looking for a stand-alone story Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and Mister Magic by Kirsten White were film-based thrillers with minimal body horror. And if you want something dumb but fun that's thriller- Can I Help You by Laura Sims was really funny (probably not intentionally)

This might be an obvious one, but if you want a good thriller/horror book, if you haven’t already read it, I’d recommend House of Leaves. Don’t look up anything about it and just go into it blind. Was one of the more interesting reading experiences I’ve had in a long while.

John Dies at the End by Jason Pargin/David Wong. He's the only author I've been able to read. It's a blend of horror and comedy. Iconic bit involves the protagonists running from a monster and the doorknob turning into a cock. There's an indie film for the first book. It's good if you go into it knowing it's low budget. Watch/Read in whatever order you prefer. This recommendation goes to anyone, really. I'm not a huge reader, but Jason has kept my attention.

A couple book recs for you: just finished reading Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z Brite (it’s extreme horror but so beautifully written you forget what you’re reading) and The Girl in 6E by A R Torre (thriller about a sex worker with murderous impulses). I always enjoy your _[X] Random Horror Games_ videos, my dude :D *edit:* Silkbulb Test was gnarly-as-fuck. I'm such a huge sucker for this subgenre of "sinister experimentation" style of horror. I love horror where the insane shit could either be the result of humanity screwing with something it shouldn't, or the appalling symptoms of the subjects mind, not that they have to mutually exclusive of course.

Lol, something about Silent Hill: Ascension makes me think of, like, a cheesy Silent Hill Soap Opera, but I'm kind of into it. It's one of those things that's entertainingly cheesy. For real, though, I hope it's only as cheesy/cheap as it is because it's a publicity stunt they're trying to force into a short, cost-effective format, and not because the people that are working on the franchise now have no idea what they're doing.
