Wow what an awesome duo and the EMD power sound! Let's not forget that awesome K5LLA!
@PacificNWRailfan3 жыл бұрын
No doubt, the best of both, EMD and K5LLA, not to mention you could hear the horn multiple times on their climb up the hill. Thanks for watching.

Glad you made it down to the MRL and got super lucky! Those units were split about a week ago and have been hiding out and running at night a lot of the time. Glad you caught them!

Thanks Trevor, Yea, I was really surprised when I saw them come around the corner, last thing I expected to see. Then when I saw it was both of the special units plus the helpers, it just made my day.
@trevorhawkins16263 жыл бұрын
@@PacificNWRailfan Yeah they had then going over to Pasco a couple times separately, on the gas local, and just got back to together not long before you saw them. I've been trying to catch them again but they always seemed to tie it down somewhere from 5am to 6pm and then get moving. Got super lucky! Now you'll just have to come catch some of the SD45s down here ;)
@PacificNWRailfan3 жыл бұрын
@@trevorhawkins1626 No doubt. Almost missed these. We stopped and set up because the signal was lit and waited almost 45 minutes and no train. I told Chris, "let's bag it =, it might be another hour or more before the train shows up" I went and got the camera , was headed to the car, and Chris hollers "I hear the train!" So mad dash to set the camera back up. lol.
@trevorhawkins16263 жыл бұрын
@@PacificNWRailfan I heard that! My parents told me you almost left haha. With traffic being slow those lights can turn on way in advance. But it was worth the wait! Pretty country too. Always love how you can see the train for miles. There's a really neat spot at the top of those curves to watch the train all the way up the pass too
@PacificNWRailfan3 жыл бұрын
@@trevorhawkins1626 No doubt. We set up at the crossing just before the big curve at Austin but this location at East Austin has a better view of the train as it climbs the pass.
