"Country singer singing a r&b blues type song." If that doesn't describe Chris Stapleton I don't know what does. The man doesn't really have a genre, but I think that's the best description ever.

This is generally my thoughts on Chris 'blues, southern rock, rockabilly, bluegrass, country (85% Outlaw Country/15% 'Mainstream' Country), soul' all together, there's an element of each of those in his body & soul. He has a lot of phenomenal music already. I hope you'll check out "I Was Wrong." Before he went soio he played and sang in The Jompson Brothers... reminded me of the old southern rock at times, but hit some Zepplinesque grooves too. "On The Run,'" "Inside Your Head" and "Barely Alive" are personal favorites. I've also heard them do "The River' live, another favorite, and them there's "Whiskey And You." Dig in and you'll probably find a lot to love! Oh, he also played in the Bluegrass band "The Steel Drivers" before the Jompson Brothers. There's been a LOT of soulful music come from those eastern KY mountains, and we're proud of all of them. Might be a hard place to come up in, but some beautiful, wonderful people!!
