@@imanoli41I understand that. I included "I Need A Gun" because: 1) It was listed in the sample credits 2) It was officially released in December 2003 on Albarn's solo EP, Demoncrazy. Which was almost 2 years before "Dirty Harry" was released on Demon Days (November 2005). So it's possible that MrLboyd heard "I Need A Gun" prior to hearing "Dirty Harry" and recognized it.

For those outside of America or born after that presidency, W refers to George W Bush. Also known as Dub, Dubya, and several I can't remember. My fave is 'that chimp who wrote his own speeches and still got them wrong'. I don't lean to any political side at all, cause the government is corrupt, owned by money, and the nation is screwed no matter who gets in office, but W was fun just cause of his accent and how seemingly not-smart he was.

Interestingly, commanders in the military are typically officers, and a lot of them are/were pilots and like to parade around in their flight suits rather than the normal uniform.

Love Gorillaz, every song is different, and their sound just keeps evolving from album to album. Good older tracks are "Tomorrow Comes Today" and "19-2000", some good newer tracks are "Melancholy Hill", "Stylo", and "Saturnz Barz".

I saw them on tour for Demon Days at the Apollo 😮 it felt like more than just a concert but an EVENT. Loved that Albarn kept up his anti-cult of personality by having the band play behind a translucent scrim and only guests (like Dennis Hopper!) appeared in front of it 😏

the lyricism is clever and devestating and the video? genius, notice how dude emerges from the sand ultimately lamenting he used to dance and thats all he wanted to do, instead the likelihood is he died in the desert for nothing (like you said about poverty) wanting to escape having nothing and the government promises you all that and more, never delivering, not divulging the particulars of evil you'll be expected to undertake, and just leaving you to it in a desolate location a fully expendable pawn

Damon Albarn is a UK artist. A great vocalist and composer. His work as the front man of Blur and Gorillaz was highly enjoyable when I was growing up in the UK. They have definitely aged well. Around the time of release it was after the war in Afganistan and during Iraq and there was alot of people calling the prime minister Tony Blair a pawn of Bush.

They're a 'local product' here, I know they did some European tours, but I honestly have no idea if they spread to the US. I'd think Demagogue is one of their most well known tracks

I think the lyrics for this part is pretty interesting "I need a gun 'cause all I do is dance." They need a gun for the terrible "crime" of trying to live and thrive in a harsh world. They've committed the "sin" of trying to live fulfilling lives where they can dance and therefore need a gun to defend themselves from those ready to enact "justice".
