One thing I have learned listening to Eminem since the early 2000’s is that he doesn’t make mistakes in his writing. He actively chose to say effin instead of the actual word which we all know he would say. He does it in order for it to sound like NF and because NF doesn’t swear. NF has addressed this bar and said what he has ALWAYS said. That if a rapper wants to call him out by name. By name and not in a bar. That is the only way he will ever get dragged into an industry beef. He had always said this. But being a fan of Eminem for 20 years and loving NF. Eminem doesn’t mistake his writing. Edit: also, the recovery clone version. Recovery is when Eminem got clean. NF is clean lyrically. Doesn’t swear.
@melvinrobinson77893 жыл бұрын

The porterhouse line referenced the fact that when people went to listen to Eminem’s Revival they expected quick and easy bars (fast food, thus BK and McDonalds) but they got something much more complex and that’s somewhat the reason why Kamikaze was in many ways easier to understand, to fulfill the wishes of those who were expecting a less in depth album and just wanted Eminem to go off on everyone

This was the first song on the abum after Revival, he often talked about how the media was basically telling everyone that Revival would be garbage cause of the features he had on before it even came out and they heared it and that they later wanted to be right. This is also what he was refering to in his first verse (all those critics who don't have talent and don't get his bars). His albums since then drop without a release date and propagate just by his fanbase and his official channels without prior promotion (its also oldschool in a way that your friends tell you about the new album and not the media). For me this song is basically his statement on what happened when Revival was released and after the beat changed he adresses the cypher.

I’ve been listening to kamikaze at work again lately; when I’m closing down the kitchen. This was the first video that I’ve stumbled upon by you.. I pretty much subscribed immediately. That was an excellent break down of the song.

I can’t be the only one that’s here to hear your commentary on some of Em’s more “outrageous” bars 🤣. Subscribed 😂

Homie I live on an old plantation in Franklin County Va. My great uncle bought it on the GI bill. This place really got me into history, and I didn't know about the mirror thing until you said it on here

I just realized, when he says you will never see em icy but this cold as I get on the m.i.c bar he's saying you won't see him cold, but when he raps he's so cold that the river Thames might freeze, ayo.. thas a deeep ass bar bro let it sink in then comment its a quadruple entendre or bigger atleast

4:25 It’s true I wasn’t even aware of that history. However for that particular bar, it’s still possible to come up with it even without knowing the past. Saying ‘I don’t see my breath in mirror ‘ is just another way of saying ‘I am dead’

Yep he messed up bc trump use to help him now Eminem got to big and don't care for no one but I listen to Eminem all the time but why can't he just leave politics out of it bc it sounds way better when he disses another artist like mgk

Man you are the first reactor and only one to this day I've seen catch the whole "an effing" "N.F ing" bar that's crazy!!!! Truly shows how skilled you are at your practice and how intelligent you are. First time I heard the song I also thought that's what he was trying to get at cause n.f around that time was throwing some very shady very subliminal shots at Eminem but he made sure that the subliminality of them all were so slight that he could easily sway anybody who caught on to him lol much love. I know this is an older song and video but I just watched it for the first time haha

"Recovery clone of me"... he's talking about NF.. NF was influenced by Eminem, but NF has made his own path, sound and style. Thats one rapper I wish he would give a hat tip to, not a diss.
