Ratan Tata’s net worth is estimated to be around $1 billion. Although his family owns over 86% of his company’s shares, they are mostly used for philanthropic and charity works, therefore meaning that most of the fortune of Ratan Tata goes into charity. In fact, if not for his philanthropic mindset, Ratan Tata could be among the world’s richest man but did sacrifice his personal net worth to improve the lives of the less fortunate.

@2312sourabh4 жыл бұрын
Actually irony is Ambani has literally became richest indian as market value of reliance industies has reached usd 150 billion.. more than all the companies of Tata group combined. while considering Mistry family (of cyrus mistry) owns 18% stake in tata sons and ratan tata cant possibly hold rest of the stake by himself as it his holded by other different shareholders (other promoters, fii, dii, retail investors, etc). Which makes Ambani literally the Richest Indian. Ratan Tata is great man. But so is Ambani.

just a few things bugging me, as mentioned in one of the top comments, Buckingham palace was made by India's money so not necessarily comparable or seen as non-indian. Furthermore, the name Bollywood was not stripped by the Americans, we had it 11 years before Hollywood. It's not always the westerners that start things. It's just that the majority always get credit!

@Fire Heart You’re really talking like everyone here is poor. There are some areas where mostly poor people live and some places where Middle class people live. You stereotypical people have made an image that every Indian is poor and lives enough, while that’s definitely not the case. We are officially developing and growing. But you wanna ignore that and point out that we’re poor. Just by watching movies and a couple of videos on India and claiming to be the know-it-all guy! Every other video portraying India bad is filled with comments by foreigners who think that this video represents India as a whole. What if I say that every American is stupid and believes mask and vaccines cause Autism? That’s gonna make me sound stupid, right? There are videos showcasing India being developed but I never see even a single foreigner looking at those videos, and blatantly ignoring the fact that a whole country can not be slum. People still talking about defecation, don’ know that India became a defecation on road free country in 2018, you guys seriously need to change you view about things and focus on now, not the past! The image you have of India you have right now is of the 1975-80s, we’ve developed a lot since. So you better stop blatantly criticising everything a country does without checking facts, because that makes you sound stupid, you already are one!

I am an American and see people always hate commenting on India without any knowledge and making stereotypes like India don’t have toilets and 50% population is in poverty while the truth is India have 98% toilets in all areas and only 3.6 percent of the people live in poverty. I study at MIT, and I research a lot and as reports of world Poverty clock: India is talking 50 people out of poverty every minute. Also we are learned that the British destroyed India before 1700 hundreds India contributed 30-33 % of the world gdp and was the richest country and we( westerns) use to call India “ the Golden bird” and the Chinese used to call India “heaven”. In the end, only one thing. What do we get by fighting on social media platforms? Why are people against other countries?. This is a modern era stop living in the Stone Age don’t hate others because of their current situation. Also Indians here only 1 massage for you guys. Your economy is improving and everything is improving and India is seeing tremendous development especially Since (2015) not trying to support a government but that’s what everything shows. and I love to see that Also I am keeping up with India and still learning about it and soon I will be visiting india.

His house for 6, alone, has provided jobs for 600 persons. If this was USA.... it still happens. Flint Michigan. Has the clean water problem been sorted out? Yet states are willing to go on tax redemption for Amazon's second headquarter. Colored neighborhoods- are they getting the same standard education and opportunities that rich neighborhoods get? Why did Felicia Huffman get 20 days in Jail for mail fraud to get her kid to go to a good college (obv. the girl could have gotten into any college), and yet Tanya McDowell gets 5 years for lying about her son's neighborhood to get him into a "better" elementary school (I know it is 1 count of larceny for the lie and 2 counts of narcotics sale, yet they charged her initially for 40 years and she took a plea for 5 years for ALL charges) The way this guy narrates it does make it sound he isnt too happy about this. Most forget, the cities if NYC, Chicago etc were built on the backs of Irish and Italian Immigrants, and the states of the South were built by the Blacks. Yet after 200+ yrs of independence, there is so much inequality between rich and poor, what exactly would you expect from a country that is 72 yrs old.

What else should they do other than dying or entering the crime themselves? Just because you ignore it, it doesn't mean other people will...You can expect praise, if you fight together(!) to get one step closer to Gandhi's dreams, but instead the society wastes its energy in fights over caste, religion and nowadays even over movie actors...
