A very difficult day in the highlands of Scotland travelling east to west, 96 miles, on bike and foot. Due to the terrible weather, the kayak section was removed from the race (if you can call it a race at that point)

Cheers for putting this together, I’m doing the challenger event this year. This is really helpful as it’s our first type of event like this.I guess weather really is a game changer.

Fair play to you both, great achievement. I did the one day last year but the two day this year as was doing with a friend and I'm glad as I wouldn't have made the one day this year, it was just savage.

Amazing effort lads, a mate and myself did the challenger version, I don't know how you pushed through Saturday to do the whole thing, that cycle was brutal, when we got to Fort Augustus we felt like hyperthermia was setting in! Well done!

Mark solid effort borther. I'm participating in the challenger event this year. This has given me a lot of insight into the race so thank you for this. Any tips/advice you can pass on for the event would be welcomed. Do you know how the majority of people carried all their kit for both days? Did they have frame/handbar bags? Got to think about carrying all my mandatory kit for the two days (as scottish weather is unpredicatable), my tent and all other stuff - it's going to be hard to fit it all on the bike

I did this in 2019 over the two days. Next day was gorgeous weather but, going over from Whitebridge in that howling wind and rain was definitely, character building, shall we say. Well done, no way I could expert and sadly you missed the best bit with the kayak but, maybe you will get to do it this year if you transferred :)

what tyre size are you running? Looks like your bike was very stable in those winds and wet roads

i think we were both on 35 mm needle tread cross tyres. perfect for the conditions!

Signed up for experts. Just pulled the bike out today (well hello ya sexy bastard) Unfit, overweight but this video has given some inspiration. Haha tastes like ass. Technical term 😂
