At 3:20 that wasn’t the lead, Moto, that was Camera Moto. He had just avoided being a hood ornament on the jeep by dropping off into a waist, deep ditch, saving it, bringing it back up. That might explain him being where he was. He is one of the best adventure, moto riders in the world, represented the US at the international BMW GS off road trophy challenge. I was driving lead Moto for the men about 20 seconds up, jeep almost took me out, driver gave zero effs. Great video though and good ride.

I think the Junior Ntl Champ has every right to wear that jersey...
@Shadowboost Жыл бұрын
But what if the national champ was there too?
@aliwhittier5492 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I mean it’s an unsanctioned gravel race…without specific starts for every category…so when should the junior get to wear the nats jersey or did they need to just start somewhere else? Kind lame IMO to waste the time to call out the kid but whatevs lol.
@Shadowboost Жыл бұрын
@@aliwhittier5492 IMO, just from etiquette. The Jr national champ should only wear the jersey at specific junior races. If it's mixed field, should not wear it, exactly because the national champ might be there too
@aliwhittier5492 Жыл бұрын
Roadie etiquette I suppose. I’m sure we can talk semantics of “etiquette” all day I just think it’s silly and a little mean spirited given this kind of gravel race but I’m also aware it’s cycling and that’s just what people do. 😂
@DrewDillmanChannel Жыл бұрын
@aliwhittier5492 I hear ya. Just weird and confusing to have 2-3 National champ jerseys all in the same group. But o guess that’s gravel. In crit racing the amateur national champ can’t wear his Stars and Stripes if the pro champ is present.

dunno if you’ve messed with chain guides and OSPW’s but my Diverge STR doesn’t have a mount for a guide. So I got the ceramicspeed OSPW for nothing more than an extra amount of tension I can set (there’s multi holes for adjustability - I use the strongest setting) because the AXS clutch isn’t strong enough on a 1x of any config. I also removed an extra link. You probably already know all this. Thanks for the great edits!

That start among cars and bikes is pretty crappy even gravel! The spirit is a little different when you racing a motorcycle! LOL. Man that first 10minutes was a hustle. Lots of wrong tire choices I think. Your TT mentality to rejoin was inspiring! Sometimes you just gotta get it done. I rate this is your best upload, it has it all, lesson learnt is get a chain catcher bro! Dropping chains in 2023? LOL. Great result with a solid day in the saddle. Appreciate the effort in giving us some Gravel candy, even if it was bitter sweet! Keep pedalling brother! 😁
@neilashton9459 Жыл бұрын
The chain drop on a 1x had to be frustrating but way to persevere through that and your slip out. I did like the voiceover but enjoy both formats. Saw a post from Tobin that he went with wider tires (like 2.1’s) - aren’t those supposed to be faster per Dylan 🤔? I know I tried them a couple of times last season (650b x 2.1) and they felt sluggish
