I absolutely agree on vehicles. I initially didn't understand it, but I'd REALLY appreciate a slow kind of rover that is about the sprint speed. If they're too fast you'd reach that boundary way too fast, but I can really get behind sprint-speed vehicles to get to locations slightly quicker, at a price of course.

I've got something to add to the manipulation tip. After holding the "A" button to manipulate an object you can hold the "X" button (Reload button) to throw it. You can throw it a pretty good distance. This is useful for tossing explosive canister in to groups of enemies, or enemies behind cover, then shooting it. Also, the triggers rotate a held object as Matty mentioned, but you can change the axis of rotation by holding down the left analog stick (sprint button). Hope this is useful!

Matty if you think number 10 is cool with the light and dark sides of the planet, try landing on part of the planet where the light and dark start to blend together and you'll be able to catch sunrises and sunsets. It's pretty amazing
@Mike-sf7ex
@Mike-sf7ex Жыл бұрын
I think the more amazing part is where the sun sets and rises is based on real time orbital positions that is dynamic and constantly changing in real time. There is so much fuss about how Starfield doesn't do this or that and everything is segmented when in reality the world space is a lot more contiguous than people want to admit.

A few more things i discovered: - equip your companions with the best, rapid firing weapons you can find, it may be very expensive for you but they don't consume ammo. - if your companion isn't using the weapon give them some of the ammo their equipped weapon requires, I think it's a bug since they are not being used anyway, but it will allow them to shoot again. - if you are tired to select quests one by one you can go in the quest log and enable the option to show ALL the quests markers and not only the active one, it's helpful in big cities where there are multiple quests in a restricted area. - if you don't like the interior of your ship or simply want to try different styles you can do it in the ship editor: select the module you want to change and use the left and right on the dpad to change the type (from armory to control center for example)... its free! Interiors styles also changes based on the manufacturer of the module. - when you fast travel don't do it directly on the surface of the planet, do it on the orbit of your destination as much as you can, it's where most of the random encounters happens and they are usually pretty interesting. - at the moment the armory modules on ships are bugged, if you leave your precious weapons and armor displayed they may disappear. while in space fight: - there is a "white border" around the middle of the speed indicator, that's where you want to keep the speed of your ship to have the best maneuverability during the battle. - you don't need to aim the cursor perfectly at your enemy if it's locked, as long as it stays in the big white circle your weapons will hit. A very nice thing if you are trying to do the kills for the piloting skill fast: - in the UC headquarter in new atlantis there is a museum with the history of the confederation, in the same area there is a fight simulator: the kills you do there count toward your piloting skill achievement!! Faster than looking for contracts. It requires you to be a member of UC.

Companions need 1 ammo matching the gun they are using. It's the same as how companions worked in Outer Worlds. Star Field is very similar to Outer Worlds in a lot of ways. Same as your settlers in Fallout 4 need 1 ammo for their gun to keep shooting.

A small little thing I discovered, which I haven't seen anyone talk about, is when you're flying your ship out in space, you can hold down the view button (the one used to switch between 1st and 3rd person), and it will let you move the camera freely around your ship. Doesn't really do anything useful, but it's nice if you want to look at your ship in action from all sides.

Here's a tip that should have made it on this list - when capturing a ship, you don't need to jump through hoops to keep it. Just open the menu, click on the ship in the bottom left, then it pops up the ship you're sitting in. You can make it your home ship RIGHT THERE. If you're docked to your main ship, it will undock. Then you can just redock and go sit in it and make it your home again. This is how you can capture more than one ship in a fight with lots of ships

1. Is a great tip for selling large amounts of loot. And saving time. 2. Is where I normally store my backup guns. Also when attacking an enemy ship check the captains lockers for more loot. 3. Is also a good storage area too but never had a need for it since I normally always try to sell as soon as I find new shops and claim bounties but the workshop’s definitely keep me coming. 4. Knew about the scanner feature but only used it for a few times for looking at more info. Definitely going to try it more when I explore planets for outpost building. 5. Noticed that when dogfighting in a metor field so I decided to try blowing some more up. Good tip. 6. Definitely didn’t know that but it will be fun to use that. 7. Never really used companions since i have more O2 without them but definitely a useful thing to know. 8. Knew that. I got stuck on a mission for nearly half an hour until I decided to try the cutter on the walls. Wish I knew this one sooner though. 9. Knew this one but never used it. Definitely saves time. 10. Didn’t notice this one but this is some good attention to detail from Bethesda.

It also holds unlimited items, so store all of your resources and crafting items there! You do have to take the items out of the container when crafting, but being overburdened is no biggie because all of the workbenches are right there. Also! - You can trade items with ALL the members of your crew, not just the companion you bring with you. So if you’re a hoarder, you’ve got your ships cargo space, plus 135 extra mass carry space per crew member. Makes it really easy to hoard resources and loot items to sell.

Since I’m ship traveling everywhere, I have far more chances to actually scan every planet, moon I travel to in game and have entire planet systems. That info as well is quite valuable to other people in game. If you just fast traveled, then less likely you get to do. Have run into points of interest just because I wasn’t fast traveling all the time. Ran into Pirate Booty Stash with Narcotics in the absolute middle of no where on a random planet.

There’s a star at the center of a solar system, not galaxy. But anyway, a cool thing to do is land at the terminator (line between night and day) slightly on the dark side, and watch the sun rise, or watch the sun set from slightly on the day side, depending upon the side of the planet you are on. A good system for finding legendary gear is to check all the random structures that aren’t necessarily connected to marked locations on planets/moons you visit. Some of these structures have large storage containers and they have a good chance of having legendary gear in them (and the containers are highlighted in your scanner from a distance)

So here's something. In Skyrim you could manipulate objects without it being considered theft. In Oblivion manipulating an owned object was theft. I just found out today that Starfield uses the Oblivion model. I got kicked out of the Freestar Embassy for moving the ambassador's desk lamp.

Yes but what you *can* do (edit: well sometimes at least, if you find at least one item you're allowed to pick up without theft) is use one item to move another. Ex: pick up some piece of junk, use it to push the item you want to steal out of view of the NPC (so like pick up a bucket and use it to push a rifle off a counter and around a corner where you can steal it unseen). 😂

Just my tips to share too. I'm not gonna go over spoilers so it's safe to read. 1. Outpost building the "output links" is not a bug because there isn't a key to remove them. You need to click the "red" lines of the output link to select it. 2. When outposts says intersects with object, that isn't a bug too. You're trying to connect a structure that's colliding with the ground, if you elevate the other structures it'll allow you to snap them into place. 3. Minor *spoilers* on this. The powers quest is not glitched or bug, the other power quests are triggered via other story quests which I will not be naming for spoiler reasons. 4. Bringing different companions offer different dialogue depending on the city or planet you're in. Some puns with some of them as well. 5. If you are really strapped for creds, you can pickpocket npcs even in crowded places all the OTHER npc don't care unless you fail the pickpocket. But it would be awkward pickpocketing when everyone is staring at you.. 6. Last is in your early levels immediately try to include security to your skills, the one that lets you lockpick. Because there are alot of dungeons in the universe that has masterlocks and won't let you get into them unless you have the skill.

Be very careful when decorating your ship. If you do any modifications in the build menu it'll reset the ship compartments to default. This includes your weapons locker. Fear not all the stuff goes to the cargo hold.... but it won't be where you put it in the ship. Fyi. I've heard outposts work in similar ways :/

Anyway, if you have too many materials on your person/ship (buying mats from vendors in the city). I always run back to the shop, take all my mats on to my person. Take off and land at the lodge. I think if you're on the ground it tries to fast travel you and if you're over encumbered you can't. If you take off with a full inventory on your person you can land at the lodge no problem.

your tip about it being day or night accurately when you land on each side of the planet - it actually goes a step further than you describe. all the planets in orbit in the sky (when visible through a clear atmosphere at least) are all in the correct positions and orbits at all times. they all have simulated orbits that they adhere to 100% accurately and you can see it all if you look up in the sky. all planets are where they should be always. you can even wait and watch the planets as they smoothly go across the sky in realtime since time is running at an accelerated rate per bethesda game tradition. great to get "earthrise" type photos with the photo feature. I've gotten a few stellar shots myself, it's quite nice

Towards the end you mention how landing on the dark side of a planet makes it dark, and light makes it daylight. It CAN effect the gameplay because the planets actually orbit the sun like they would in real life. Probably the craziest hidden feature so far. So, if a place you want to go is on the dark side of the planet, Just simply wait for it to orbit into the daylight.

Fun trick for the ship cargo. It theoretically has infinite capacity! All you gotta do is store any items you want in an over filled cargo in an unrelated container. Then, just add or tack something off your ship. Any items in any containers other than the cargo, will be shoved into the cargo hold. Regardless of capacity!

I like Starfield and some of these tips are great. However, there is one thing that no one is sharing that I think is pretty useful....Your ship, no matter its size has almost infinite storage. You can cut every cargo hold from your ship (don't do this) and it will still hold tons of junk but how? Dump your inventory on the floor of your ship in any room. It will technically be weightless because it isn't counted. If you choose to do this make sure to unload it as fast as you can. I don't know if it will bug the game at a certain point or if items might start dissappearing but in a pinch it's great. Bonus Tip- I absolutely hate it when merchants run out of money. However, when this happens don't fret, and whatever you do don't go look for another vendor. Just find a bench and choose to wait for 24 hours (it's fairly quick) and the vendor will have all of their money again! :) Addendum- I don't see the night and day cycle to be that awe inspiring. No Man's Sky was doing this in 2016 on an Xbox One.

I have another Hint and a Warning for you. It is about Stuff you place on your ship and the Ship Editor: Yes you can Place all kinds of things lying around on your ship. You also can build a Armory, were you can place your weapons, Armor Parts and Ammo for all to see. BUT: when you have to rebuild your ship, upgrade it or so, all that stuff will be transfered back into the ships Cargo Space. (How it works if this is full and no space left for the stuff, idk. Maybe it is placed in your inventory or it gets lost, be carefull) This also happens if you build / Upgrade your Outpost. But you can also use this to your advantage: When you take over an enemy ship, you often have corpses of the former crew, or wreckages from bots and turrets lying / hanging around... something that shouldn't be. Your crew also isn't a big help in getting rid of them. BUT: If you fly to a shipyard (or your own outpost with landing pad and build in ship designer) and change your ship a little bit or only move some parts and let them resnap in place... bamm, they are all gone and you have a clean ship! :D
