English prepositions are so hard, they are very specific. People say "in the end" like that Linkin Park song, "In the end, it doesn't even matter" But for months "At the end of the month"

I think you should mention that In the end can be used as finally. In the beginning also could mean At first.

Yeah, that's right, I'm not so sure but I guess there's a video about that topic already but I don't have the link and if I'm not wrong it was Liza who made that video. when saying "In the beginning" you're stating a fact. Example: - in the beginning she started studying English, when saying "At the beginning" you're speaking about an specific point Example: -She was AT the beginning of the book. The same thing happens with; - In the end. And. - at the end.

The important thing is that I liked your way of explaining, whether what I saw at the beginning of this month or at the end of last month, everything was wonderful.

@fredylopez2477
@fredylopez2477 4 ай бұрын
I think you meant to say: "I didn't like the beginning of your video but I always like the end of your videos". In this case you can't use "at the beginning" and "at the end".

I appreciate you make this sort of videos where you explain slight differences regarding the use of similar expressions, phrases, words and so on. This is an extremely crucial video because I can constantly see how many people get confused between using at the beginning and in the beginning and others. Make more of this type of content.

IN the beginning And. IN the end. both have other connotation, it's another idea, that's what Kevin didn't say, I guess he forgot to mention it.

Thank you so much for the lesson.🤝 I have a question, please. As we say "in early May", is it correct to say "in late May"? Or is there any other example for the opposite of that, please? Thanks in advance.
@fredylopez2477
@fredylopez2477 4 ай бұрын
I'm not Kevin but to me, "In late May" sounds natural and coherent, I mean, logical, I guess that expression could be correct but if you live in an English speaking country you could ask a native speaker I think you can use that expression but let's wait for kevin's answer, maybe it ain't correct, despite the fact it could be.

Hello Kevin!, would you like to clarify this one: If I want to say I'm working in the lobby is the sentence correct or incorrect?
@fredylopez2477
@fredylopez2477 4 ай бұрын
It sounds correct because you're doing your job in that space, I mean, the lobby. BUT. If you are in a specific place even though you're doin' nothing, "you are AT a place, it sounds correct too. - So both expressions are correct to me. But, according to your question, that expression is correct.

But Americans use both of them to mean the same. a few days ago, I was reading about The History of The USA, and chapter 1 said "In the beginning, this was America 16000 years ago", Is it a mistake?
