How many thousands of seats I did for GM while with JCI. We used air powered hog ring guns. We could do seat cushions in 3 minutes. Well more had to lol

We received your seats at Doraville Assembly. Once there was an issue when Saturn and Pontiac began sharing the same houndstooth fabric inserts. The ANDON was used liberally that day. Even now I still look at the seats in every Montana and Relay I see out of force of habit.

Question about the upholstery kit. My foam bits are larger than these, espeially #3 is way longer. Do you need to trim that or wrap it around the front to the bottom?

The 1-2-3 foam pads for the bottoms are now longer and thicker than the ones shown in the video. “New & Improved”. Install as shown, wrap pad #3 all the way down, do not cut it. MrMike.

Hi Mr. Mike! While I'm waiting for my new covers to arrive, I started to prep my old seats (88 Formula, original upholstery). I have two concerns, or differences if you will, between your video and my seats. First, when I removed the listing rods in the cushion part, I noticed that mine have a bend in them 10" from the end. Both rods are identical, so I don't think the bends were accidental. Is this correct to these seats? Do I need to straighten the rods? Secondly, the middle and back of the cushion were held on with a Velcro-type strip. The foam is solid, with no wires running across. Where do I hog ring the new cushion to?

The rods should be bent to follow the contour of the seat, sometimes the factory forgot to bend them (like 5% or the time). The Velcro is because your seats are 1988, this is a 1988 only thing, simply peel off the Velcro and the listing wire is underneath. These details are covered in the paper updates included with the kit, and on my website instructions. In time I will make a new Fiero install video to include these details. If you mean 'plier' it is a Hog-Ring plier, it has corresponding size Hog-Rings. These rings are like staples, in that not all staples fit all staplers. Hog-Ring pliers and Hog-Rings are included with each kit.

Ever use nylon zip ties instead of hog rings?

Each MrMikes kit includes Hog-rings and Hog-ring pliers, these make the job far easier. I have seen people use zip-ties, obviously they did not have hog-rings and zip-ties are better than nothing.

leather fabric looks a little lose on that one in your example..is there a way to tighten that?

New upholstery stuffed in a box is like a tuxedo stuffed in a box; it’s wrinkled.The upholstery shown being installed came out of a box just 30 minutes prior. Notice the lack of wrinkles in the second seat at the end of the video, that seat had an hour to “relax”. Once installed new upholstery needs to relax and conform to the seat. This is easily accomplished (no hands) by parking the car in the sun with the windows rolled up.Thank you, MrMike

Mr. Mike doesn't do REAL leather unless you're willing to go with black seats. LOL There is no way I'm settling for fake leather. So, I'm taking my business elsewhere. TWO THUMBS DOWN!!! 👎👎👎
