In Buzzo's case, letting the player kill him leads to alot of story changes that even leaks into the Joyful, it'd simply be way too much work to not give him plot armor. Demon X is probably designed as a kick in the nuts to cheaters who try to wipe out everything.

It's not even that complicated to make a fully status-resistant battler in RPGVX Ace. There's an option in the default interface to give full resistance to individual status effects, even death, meaning that the post death calling you a cheater and ending the game *IS* what passes for an easter egg!!

Anyone who is trying this, use Carp's wrist slash ability over and over, it lowers attack/special attack with every hit even though it doesn't do any damage, so eventually demon x just can't deal any damage at all

+fedesso Satan isn't too hard anyway, I used Birdie, Olan and Bo Wyatt. Birdie dosed that fatty in oil and blinded him as well, Olan shoots a poison arrow and poisons him. And then from then on Brad and Olan use fire based special attacks while Bo Wyatt constantly heals the party and curing status conditions.

Presumably Ding just didn't think anyone would bother trying over and over until they managed to dodge enough attacks that they won.

@@Slaanash It is stupidly easy to make an enemy completely immortal. The State Resist: KOed flag is used on every enemy in the game who says a line before dying, to prevent them from dying and ending the battle before they can talk. I'm almost certain that Dingaling did this on purpose, but I don't know why. Maybe he was going to make an alternate version of the scene but never got around to it, hence the abrupt game over.

I feel like they got incredibly lazy by making you have instant game overs for beating plot armour/weapons bosses. Yet they couldn't be bothered to make the plot weapons always hit no matter the debuff.

dingaling was actually suprised when he realized it was possible to kill him, so it's not really "laziness," it's an oversight. the real issue here was forgetting to make him immune to poison since it's basically impossible to damage him the normal way tl;dr the developer isn't lazy but he's not really that smart

Awesome job! I was wondering when someone was going to post this. I beat buzzo beforehand, and I had no idea that confusion stops the enemy from attacking for even more turns than stunning. Gonna have to put Harvey on my roster from now on. Would be cool to get some achievements for defeating the impossible antagonists, though.

+jkb5954 Yeah, confusion can be pretty useful in the right circumstances. Its main downside is that enemies have a chance (50% I think) to lose confusion upon being attacked. Damage from poison (and I assume the other damage-over-time statuses), however, does not risk removing confusion. So yeah, I guess confusion is best either when you really need to stun an enemy but don't care about damaging them for a few turns, or when you're letting poison do all the damage for you, like in this video.

+The Cool Rapper For the bike race with Columbo, I think it's a slightly sped up version of Burning Sunset. I have no clue what the song for the Terry fight is because I've never given away Terry in any of my playthroughs. I'd recommend checking the Lisa wiki. While it would be cool, the reason that killing Demon X and Buzzo gives you a game over is to stop cheaters. Though it is obviously possible to beat them legit, I suppose that Dingaling never thought you could or didn't expect anyone to figure out how. Considering how Demon X does have 999999 HP and 999 Attack and defence it's probably assumable that it was never intended for him to be beaten. Other than that I'd assume that it's just there so it doesn't fuck with the story line.

I seriously don't understand why some poeple are making a big deal out of the lack of plot armor... In theory, that would correspond with, everytime a game contains a glitch or an oversight, are the programmers of the game then inclined to make "plot reason" for it to happen? That doesn't even make sense, EVEN if the game is very meta. (Example, Metal Gear Solid, i'm unintentionally walking through a wall, does the game then have to a recognise that with a "secret/easter egg" codec call, just because you weren't supposed to go through a wall? Good luck i say to all programmers and storywriters IN THE WORLD)

This message was supposed to be seen only by cheaters, thats why it boots you out of the game. Its not uncommon for RPG maker games to have exploits anyway, I played Hero X Daughter Plus for example and that games final bosses are basicaly "exploit or die" situation.
