Honestly I think folks are jumping the gun. I think God Valley will be a flashback that's just told in multiple spanning perspectives until we get the full picture of everyone's motives for being there. For now we'll see Kuma's POV and probably how he escaped with Iva and this new Ginny girl. Maybe their meeting with Dragon? Otherwise is doubt we get the full incident with Rocks and Roger.

Why wouldn't we? If Oda prolong the flashbacks by only giving us chunks it'll only burdens the overall story. Tying Kuma, Garling, Shanks, Roger, Garp, Rocks and his crew (WB, BM, Kaido, etc) in one fell swoop is the best way to do it. Afterall there's still Imu's and Joyboy's flashback yet to come

Maybe, i see 3 options for dragon in kuma's flashback 1. Dragon runs into kuma at god valley briefly as a marine but doesnt see kuma for some years until after hes ousted as king to where kuma joins the freedom fighters 2. When kuma gets deposed as king, kuma and dragon will meet for the first time when kuma briefly becomes a pirate 3. Dragon meets up with kuma and ivankov at god valley they all form the freedom fighters and dragon puts kuma undercover as the king of sorbet for a mission

There's solid indicators of Rocks being someone that wanted to transform the world, as after the Rocks pirates were disbanded 3 of its crew members (Whiteboard, Big Mom, Kaido) went into the new world and formed their own miniature Worlds reflecting their sometimes twisted view of an ideal society. To me this hints at Rocks wanting to tear down the World Govt and the Celestial Dragons that sit atop it then create a new order, but that similar to Kaido and Big Mom he could've had a distorted view of justice and/or a by-any-means-necessary approach

A factoid that Oda has recently played up the importance of, esp with the fact during God Valley and Kuma's time growing up a lot more people than the present, know the existence of. Idk what happens in the flashback but being a Buccaneer may play a roll for most involved. I mean, an abnormally strong being slave to the WG [Kaido] part of an extinct race [Big Mom] who just lost his family _to_ the WG [Whitebeard] is a person of interest for the overall future motivations for the titular Rocks Pirates crew. If Oda decides to make it a point that being a Buccaneer, who seem to be a lot closer and more knowledgeable to the legend of Sun God Nika and to an extent, possibly Joyboy, than other people of the One Piece World, Kuma could be *that* catalyst alongside the 6 chests from the games as a side prize in the chaos.

We still need to see how kuma became a tyranical king which is 100% not gonna be in god valley as he most likely escapes with ginny and invakov. Luffy flashback wasn't 100% about luffy it was about luffy, sabo, and ace which is why we had focus on all 3 of hte brothers and why it called by the fandom the ASL flashback.

God Valley was big enough of an event to need two full flashbacks to properly unravel. Maybe even three. We'll get Kuma's perspective for this one, and later on, when it becomes more relevant, we'll revisit it for the full context on Rocks and Roger and such.

We're seeing Kuma's memory of the incident, so it's likely information about Rocks, Roger and their goals will be kept from us. Kuma should remain the focus of his flashback, so yeah, we might have to wait until maybe Garps flashback for that info.

I agree that we won't get everything at once, but I do think we'll get more than just Kuma's story. This is because this isn't just his flashback. It's also Jay Garcia's story and memory of Kuma. So we'll get it from both their perspectives. That opens the door for more to be shown. For instance, we know that the five elders have battled those with D in their names. Roger and Rocks both carry the name D, so maybe they did something that upset Garcia, i.e., they fought, and slaves got freed. Also, narratively, we just left Garp with the Blackbeard pirates, so maybe this can be a chance to feed into his backstory and build hype for the next time we see him. Also, since Kuma was a slave and we already see Ivankov, then they probably escape together. Someone has to free/save them. That could be Roger and Garp.

Hot take: I don't think v will get full fledged God valley incident right now.. Especially when egghead is at it's climax.. It would b too awkward too fit it in this scenario.. What I think is that next few chapters will focus more on days kuma spent in God valley, how they escaped, how he became tyrant king etc etc. At this moment, kuma's background matters more... God valley incident can b done after egghead arc

Yeah, I think so too. The flashback is Kuma's flashback, and there is quite a bit to cover there. We will get to see what he saw/experienced (as a child slave) in God Valley. There's no way we get a first-person view of Rocks and his agenda, and why Roger and Garp chose to fight him. It just doesn't make sense why Kuma would be privy to all that as a child. We might get a limited view of Garling, and assuming Dragon was even there is a bit of a stretch. All that could be covered in a Garp flashback for example.

I don't think so. Garling cutting down the king of GV was certainly not part of Kuma's memories, as we can see that he's somewhere completely different. Moreover, dividing the story into various flashbacks from different perspectives might slow the pace dramatically, something I don't see happening right now. I think (read: hope) we'll get it all!

Considering the timeline, I wonder if God Valley is what made Donquixote Homing start to consider leaving Mariejois with his family. Doflamingo was 8 when they left and is currently 41, and I think Rosinante was a year or so younger than him, so they would have been alive but very young when it happened. Between whatever laundry list of tragedies which happened on the island plus the potential purposeful abandonment of a Celestial Dragon baby (Shanks), it might provide more context for why Homing wanted so badly to get his family out of there.

Personally, I want to believe this was the turning point for Whitebeard: where he realized how "evil" Rocks was, or rather, how the crew was collapsing. None of them had good chemistry, and it was only a matter of time until they collapsed. Despite what I said earlier, I don't believe that Rocks was as evil as we think. Rather, he was just a Dark Joyboy who, sad as it was, lost his purpose. If any of you are wondering what this enigmatic "purpose" is, then let me tell you: Joyboy's role is to be a liberator that brings smiles to all who are oppressed. However, Rocks brought fear and terror instead. That's why Roger and Garp were "brought" to God Valley - by JOYBOY/Nika - to set things right.

The cloak old Garling wears is the same as the one "Shanks" wore when he visited the gorusei. There's no way that was actually Shanks, surely it must be another god's knight, probably a twin/brother. Since when has the gorusei given any inclination that they negotiate? What could they want from Shanks? Information? There is even more things people miss since we know now it was a torunament or similar we now know why roger and garp teamed up to protect celestial dragons and their slaves. 1. Regarding celestial dragons we know they needed protection as stated in chapter 957 and also because Figerland IS a celestial dragon that stood before Rocks and his crew ,fought and ultimatley lost hence why Garp and reinforcements were called, and why Roger happened to also pull up or be there be it desitiny or dumb luck and how they directly or indirectly ended up protecting celestial dragons even tough they likely were fighting for the slaves and this ties into point nr 2 below. 2.Regarding slaves we know how inhumane celestial dragons and Garling are so it is likely the" protecting" part of Roger and Garp came from the celestial dragons making their slaves fight in the tournament taking pleasure in seeing them extingueshed on by one, Rocks and his crew timing is unkown but either they came and beat the celestial dragons and proceeded to capture the slaves and Celestial dragons as hostages until Roger and Garp intervined that is and got the W and wiped them off or 2nd scenarop is that all this happend simultaneously.However i lean more on the 1st scenario outcome as being more valid since why would Garp be called with reinforcements then ? it only makes sense they are called only after Rocks pulls up and defeats the celestial dragons. 3.Because pirates aka Rocks crew embaresd the celestial dragons and because memebers of the "D" family aka Roger and Garp ended up protecting the celestial dragons ,freed slaves and made of with treasures from the island the WG ,iMU likely viewed this as shameful hence why the mother flame was summoned and they wiped the island with with everthing that happened there to hide the great shame they suffered or to protect their image as "gods".

From the direction that God Valley incident is taking, considering Kuma's and Ivankov's presence (maybe Dragon will be there too), I think the Freedom Fighters was an organization aiming the liberation of slaves, initiating after God Valley.

I am excited to learn more about Shanks because I theorize that Shanks has already been to laugh tale and knows what the one piece is (this would happen before the first chapter but some time after Rodgers death). I think he is trying to influence the world to make whatever prophecy he found out at laugh tale happen, and knowing that he was abandoned at God Valley makes me think he could be a half breed of some kind. I know he isn't tall but he has an affinity for giants and we just learned about a giant human mix so who knows 🤷

The crew offered the copies they had as a peace offering but then Dori and Brogi destroyed the ships. At no point does it show anyone on the Red Hair crew taking the rubbings or mentioning needing them. Plus Kid was the one who started that fight, Shanks was visiting Elbaph and Kid showed up and tried to fire a huge laser to wipe out the Red Hair Fleet. There is zero indication that Shanks needs the copies of the poneglyphs, and even if he did we know there are characters like Luffy and Law who have more copies of road poneglyphs than Kid. Even if that was his goal taking Kid's copies still leaves him with two more copies he needs, the one on Zoa and the last one that has yet to be revealed. If Shanks was starting from scratch and needed all the road poneglyphs, randomly targeting Kid to get copies of the two poneglyphs who's locations are the most know would be very inefficient.

My theory is that Dragon was also enslaved at God Valley. Similar to Luffy Garp probably left Dragon to his own devices in Goa Kingdom. Then when some Celestial Dragon visited Dragon insulted him and the Celestial Dragon enslaved him. That is where he met many of the members of the revolutionary army such as Kuma, Iva, Karasu, Ginny, and Morley. Then when Garp learns that his son was taken he gets Sengoku to tell him where the celestial dragons are to beat their a** and to get his son back. He goes to God Valley and there he sees that Rocks is attacking both slaves and celestial dragons which is why he decides to fight Rocks. During all this Dragon is staging a mini coup and is the person who got Iva his fruit and the seiryu fruit which was stolen by big mom. Finally Garp demolishes the celestial dragon that kidnapped his son. That’s why they wanted Garp to be an admiral so much. So that they could directly rule over him.

So, you've ignored something rather important. This is where the Rocks pirates "betrayed" each other, from the perspective of Big Mom and the reluctant agreance of Kaido. I think we have yet another reason why Kaido drinks the rest of his days away. Suppose, the prizes here were not devil fruits. Suppose they were children, who had eaten the devil fruits. After all... what noble would want to be "cursed"? This suddenly puts a very dark atmosphere around the whole incident, and it explains in full context the differences that Kaido and Big Mom had, and what ultimately destroyed the Rocks pirates. You mgiht be asking "what about Newgate? Did he eat a baby?", I don't think so. Roger and the Rocks pirates obviously formed an alliance before this. So they would have gone there together. The plan was probably for Big Mom and Kaido to find the loot, and then they get out of there. Things rarely go according to plan though, and so a battle was inevitable. While battle broke out, big mom and kaido found, then inspected the loot. Big mom and Kaido were both shocked to find that the treassure chests all contained children, and they had all eaten the devil fruits to some degree. Meanwhile, Garling is confused, to him. They came here to abduct their children for which they hold the God Valley hunt to determine who gets the right to bare children. (this way every parent would be broken, and none would have clean hands to defy the world government. Successfully hunt a human, and get to keep your child.) This time it was different though, because the world government knew that Stussy was double-timing them, and decided to feed the children the aforementioned children the devil fruits for either the Gorosei's or Imu's direct amusement. Roger did not know Garling was not lying, and Garling did not know what Roger was talking about almost entirely having been raised in a bubble. We turn back to big mom and kaido. Their delay has caused the enemy to catch up with them. Unsure who could pressure them to this extent, but I would bet there is at least one out there that they would fear in their youth. It was probably Garp... Kaido did the unthinkable, and Linlin saw no problem with it. This left an emotional scar on Kaido that all the booze in the world would not satiate, and all the evil deeds wouldn't amount to. Now we get to the knot of "how does Roger, Garling, and Garp, all figure out that Kaido just ate a baby." I would say, things fall into place when Kaido appears and Newgate uses the tremor fruit. Somehow or another, Garling realizes that a dirty pirate ate a baby, and that humans are no better than beasts. Garling will go on thinking it was his child that was eaten. Not realizing that Newgate probably saved Shanks from eating the Tremor fruit by sheer luck. The revelation will turn Roger against Rocks deeply. "How could you command a crew that would do something so heinous?", then roger will demand he take responsibility, and garp will back him up on it, realizing that there are larger forces at play, and most everyone had been deceived. This is long format speculation, but feel free to use whatever you want from it. I think it has bones. As for a bunch of the hunted slaves getting a second lease on life, I think that will happen with Dragon, but i think it will be very subtle and in the backdrop of everything. Either that... or.... dragon is Garp's subordinate before this, and this is where everything changes for Garp, and between him and his son.

Yeah, storyvise there are things and elements that matter much more, but this is the one for me. You can bet I'm HYPED as hell, the breakweek can't go past enough.

After lulucia was erased they didn't have any idea what was going on, and if anyone would know it would be dragon and them from first hand experience. Got one thing to poke here. Lulucia wasmt destroyed by uranus. Vegapunk literally says so he gave the world government a sample of "the mother flame" but he ver could have foreseen they would us it like that. Unless they used it to power uranus. Other thing is the time line of the revolutionary army and god valley. Dragon was barely a teen for god valley. And didnt form the RE until 18 years later based on the time line. Vegapunk said the ohard incident was the reason dragon formed it. Also leading to my favourite theory that luffy and robin are siblings. Nico olvia was investogating the will of D found dragon the son of the worlds most famous d clan member. Had a baby went back to ohara to warn them while dragon watched the baby. Gets killed by the governments buster call. Dragon now resents baby luffy because if he didnt have to watch him he could have protrcted olvia. And dumps him to make the army. The ages all work robin was 8 nearly 9 when it happened and luff is 8 to 9 year younger than her. Would also fit why dragons only question after dress rosa is how is robin doing. And why the revolutionary army recruited her after the whole bridge thing in the time skip arcs

If one were to subscribe to the Dragon was a marine trainee theory, Akainu may have likely been there as well. Maybe they saw different instances that painted the CDs/WG and the Pirates in a negative light respectively, hence why their path diverged. Being Garp's son may have given Dragon a decent childhood while Akainu is known to have suffered as a child. The theory that Garp became a hilariously abusive grandpa to compensate for his doting of Dragon would be an interesting view if Dragon was a spoiled yet talented brat but changed his ways as he grew up, inspired/traumatized by the events he's seen.
