The Infinity castle arc is the longest arc of the series. It covers about the same amount of chapters as the entirety of season 1 of the anime does (which has multiple arcs). I highly doubt the movies will be "mini movies", as that would require them to shorten them quite drastically.

The only reason Gyomei wasn't used in any battle before this one is because only Muzan and the three upper moons are stronger than him, (and even when it comes to Doma, it's debatable) any other demon, he'd fold in a second, even Gyutaro wouldn't be much of a problem for him. the writer only included him in the final season to make the story more interesting.

Since starting Demon Slayer way back in season 1 the only other things ufotable has done is the last of the fate heaven's feel movies and a music video and a couple little demon slayer shorts which is still demon slayer. They have been basically completely locked in and dedicated to demon slayer alone for the past 5 years.

The manga panel to animation translation from ufotable is just chefs kiss. They way they did the explosion, parts of Muzan's and Ubuyashiki conversation, like when he told Muzan that no one has forgiven him in 1000 years, the tiger dragon painting into the hashiras. Like just their creative choices is so perfect. Say what you want about DS, it has some lows, but its peaks are PEAK.

They said that whoever coreographed the fights of the Entertainement district arch will also coreograph the fights of the 3 films and the final showdown and will have carte blanche so there will be some absurd peaks and I already think I understand a little which way they want to go with adding original materials for the characters. The first I think Mitsuri after she had a 3 minute post credit scene with rengoku encouraging her and tanjiro which by the way was I think one of the most beautiful post credit scenes of all.

Both the master and muzan played hail Mary's. The master bet everything on his sacrifice and hoped together the hashira could end it then and there. And muzan was pushed into a corner for the first time in thousands of years so he brought every slayer into his home for one last all out war. Truly the best possible set up for the final battle
